The movie is incredible. I saw it at a NYC screening. It's fun entertainment with humor and emotional moments. I love the animation. There's also a post end-credit scene.
either way I still push for the OG voice actors rather than famous celebrities for prime and megatron, they are voice actors and have great chemistry without even trying, it just seems like a wasted opportunity not to have them here
This IS confirmed to be a trilogy but also the war between Optimus and Megatron was INCREDIBLY long. It makes more sense to have him turn in 1, a big chunk of the war in 2, and then probably leaving the planet in 3.
Isn't the war thousands of years in some continuities? Which gives plenty of time for Megatron and Optimus to go from this to the stoic characters we know
Agreed I was expecting Megatron slowly turning bad then become a major antagonist at end of the second film, but I was impressed of Brian voicing as evil Megatron and the film look interesting.
I mean, the autobot/decepticon war is really long, most of the time the stuff that we see in animated or live action stuff is basically the final days of the war, we have never really see the time before the war or the early days been thoroughly explored in other media apart from the comics, so this can easily become a trilogy exploring the most impactful moments of the beginning of the war before they eventually go to Earth
I think the reason they kind of let the plot get revealed in this trailer is because the last trailer got bashed by the tf community for being too "comedic", and you can't really blame them (us) for being skeptical since pretty much every single modern TF movie besides bumblebee have poorly represented what this franchise could be in favour of "more action, less substance". I was one of the few who felt that the first trailer showed great potential in what TF:One could be, and i'm glad the second trailer has kind of eased most of the TF fandom's concerns regarding the tone of this movie and the following 2 sequels. I hope this movie is a financial success because i've always felt that animation is the perfect medium for transformers media, be it TV shows, mini-series, or movies. Hopefully they continue to take inspiration from the IDW comics if this movie is a hit because there's a lot of deep lore and stories that completely juxtaposes the idea that transformers is simply a shallow franchise about robots fighting. This franchise has the potential to have complex character studies and deep exploration on the morality and repercussions of what it's like to be in an involuntary billion year war, but the modern movies have kind relegated it to "big robots go fight, gun go brrr, sword goes whoosh" when in actuality the transformers as a whole have always been more than meets the eye. Hopefully this movie is the start of something more meaningful
Oh yeah, this is going to be PEAK TRANSFORMERS!🔥 I LOVE this trailer's designs, cinematography, and visuals, as it is a much better trailer than the first one. It gives you a sense of the darker story, the more intense they want to tell, with Optimus's rise as leader of the Autobots and Megatron's downfall as leader of the Decepticons and how the two tragically went from friends to enemies and began the Cybertronian war. Cant wait!
You should do the reaction of Transformers Prime. It's a great animated series by Hasbro and one of the best after beast wars. It also, in small amounts touches the relationship between both Prime and Megatron which would be fun to watch.
I’m not even a huge transformers fan like my best friend but he invited me to a screening almost a month ago and I can’t wait to watch this movie again. This movie is leagues above the Michael bay movies, there’s no competition. This movie has way more personality, great action and makes you care about the character unlike the trashy Bayverse movies.
Why is Hollywood so opposed to using established voice actors in their animated projects now? They used to hire tons of veteran voice actors for animated roles but now its just big name Hollywood actors. People aren't going to these movies to hear Hemsworth, the same way no one was going to see the Lion King for Johnathan Taylor Thomas, people are going to see the animated characters.
These “big name Hollywood actors” can also voice act.. you’re acting like Chris Hemsworth doesn’t sound totally different to how he normally does. And Scarlett Johansson has experience in voice acting. This isn’t like Chris Pratt where he plays himself in every movie he’s in.
Honestly if the movie is good and the voices are good, it doesn't really matter who they put as the voice actors. If they wanna have Top Hollywood people voice act and use them to promote the movie, then they can do that if they want. Also they aren't just actors, most also do voice acting work
Chris Hemsworth has also been cast in the live action, Transformers/ GI Joe crossover. I’m hoping he is one of the Joe’s and not taking over the voice of Optimus in that as well. From what I’ve read Bumblebee was a reboot, and this is connected to the new live action movies as well.
To give credit, I didn't know the prequel Star Wars films WERE prequels until Revenge of the Sith was out. I was able to just see "star wars" and have fun with the films. It's my hope that this film will be a good time for both newcomers and veterans to the Transformers series.
To be fair, im also an advocate of watching only the first trailer to avoid showing to much but this movie I think needed this second trailer. As a long time transformers fan, alot of people were hoping to see the downfall of cybertron in a dark way, and the first trailer made it feel more buddy cop between orion and megatron. This trailer did boost my interest by showing it will be focusing on the split and downfall of the friendship between Orion and Megatron leading to the civil war that anyone with basic knowledge of transformers knows is inevitable. Also the war for cybertron took place over 10000 years. (In some continuities) so before the planet dies they could easily milk a few movies out of this (planet of the apes style)
It was confirmed that this movie was gonna be the start of a trilogy, and considering how long the civil war lasted, it's possible for them to explore every avenue of the war: 1st Movie - The start of the war and the long rivalry between two old friends. 2nd Movie - Coverage of the entire war, with some notable victories and defeats on both sides. 3rd Movie - Captures the final moments of the planet and the Cybertronian's eventual abandonment of it.
Having seen the movie… this trailer spoiled absolutely nothing!! It really kept the actual plot details under wraps really well!!! Also please stay after the credits a lot of people at my showing Missed the post credits scene Trust me they didn’t spoil you two at all!!!
We already know their origin story 🤷♂️ but I'm just glad there is NO Humans in it..😁 (Transformers Prime & War of Cybertron Animated Series) y'all do know there has been a lot of things since the 80's 😅💡
Fun fact: Hemsworth almost decline on this role cause he doesn't want to disrespect the OG optimus (Peter Cullen) since all of us wanted to hear Peter's voice everytime we see Optimus and that includes Chris as one of the fans of transformers series As trailer itself, Chris give justice as Orion/Optimus.
Even if this movie becomes part of a trilogy, it's a good idea for it to be relatively self-contained. I hope the movie does well, but the box office is very unpredictable these days. In the worst-case scenario, if this is the only movie we get, I'd rather it not end with a cliffhanger or with too many unresolved plotlines that sequels are supposed to pick up.
They still have stuff not spoiled don’t worry jabby!!!! I cannot wait for this movie, btw they are making this a trilogy from what I heard hearing the transformers theme like that in the trailers was amazing, oh they have tooooons of characters to make room for more movies so many I recognized here finally this feels like they will be treated like actual characters
Also, don’t forget guys there’s gonna be Quintessons in this movie which I thought the story of this one was how they freed themselves from the Quintessons. I still think a big portion of the movie will be about that.
Did want to hear Peter Cullen once the Optimus Prime change BUT i understand Peter Cullen is getting old and they are perhaps transitioning from Cullen to Hemsworth. I agree with Jaby this should have been a trilogy
It wouldn't make sense for Orion Pax to be voiced by Peter Cullen if he's supposed to be younger. Even in the original 80's cartoon, when they did a time travel episode to the past, Orion Pax wasn't voiced by Peter Cullen, even though Optimus was in the same episode voiced by Cullen
@@TheSuperSquadthey meant once he gets the matrix of leadership and becomes a Prime, his voice changes to Peter Cullen's to signify his transformation

The animated format isn't live action why would you want it to be, creators should take advantage of that and create interesting concepts; take advantage of the medium, don't just imitate real life. I wish I could be excited for this, but I'm just not digging it. When I heard they were doing a Transformers animated prequel, I thought it was gonna be in the style and tone of the opening scene from Bumblebee. That would've been awesome. Megatron: we were brothers once.

There’s actually one named Tidal Wave, imagine if he’s in the crowd raising his hand at Bumblebee.

Yeah evil megatron sounds really good
I'm glad I went in blind for this one. I was totally surprised by all the twists and turns. I didn't know it was a betrayal story until the third act.
Chris: now is the time to stand up.... Peter cullens: together as one🔥😭
It’s gonna hurt when Optimus Prime and Megatron turn on each other

the war spans thousands of years but the decepticons have to exist first. they are pretty on track but i do wish the run time was longer.
