I can only imagine the vocation of a Democrat "patronage chief" in Washington Co, TN, circa 1978. Most likely a shipdit lawyer ... whose business probably dried up come January 1979 (unless it was to defend a coke-addled son of one the 19 other Democrats in that particular portion of East Tennessee).
With hindsight, Carol used Gov. Blanton as a resume to get a job in her hometown in Chicago at WMAQ. She earned it by putting 6 years in Tennessee. But nothing has changed. Gov. Blanton had no connections like a Richard Daley, Jr. Blanton was a poor sharecropper's son. Because had that been Daley, Jr. she would be long gone and eventually, she was pushed out.

Being a Democrat has nothing to do with his crookedness. Mark Foley, Dennis Hastert, Bob packwood, Nixon, Agnew, Trump all convicted crooks certainly isnt because they are Republicans its because they lack morals and integrity and they are greedy

When WMAQ hired Jerry Springer to be a commentator on there 10PM news she eventually resigned out of protest along with her co-anchor Ron Magers.
