- In this video, I'm vlogging my experience with the first inspection at Don Valley North Lexus. I got the inspection completed, installed the genuine Lexus dash camera available in Canada, and have the VSC recall update complete.

Great Video mon ami...👍
Thank you!
Hows your lexus dash cam? If you could please do a video or review on that one will be much appreciated.. im thinking of getting one in the future..
@@martinpanganiban3024 I will be adding a video for the Lexus genuine dashcam. Near the end of this video the I have put videos from the dashcam (5:00 mins time)
Thanks for sharing! I will get a recall in a few days as well!
It will go smoothly.
Cool! I always learn something new from your videos as a fellow NX user 👍
You are lucky. My dealer here in South Florida is still not able to service the VSC recall. I have been on the waiting list for 3 weeks now.
I'm sorry to hear about that. On your Lexus App, does it say the remedy is available?
@@lsft No. It just gives alert about the recall & says call dealer for service. Dealer says they don't have the "part" to service the recall yet. I assume it is a replace chip that needs to be installed.
@@mikethornhill8853 The VSC recall is just a software update on the car. This is what I got from the recall: Safety Recall RD7 - Remedy Notice - Certain 2022 model year LX 600, NX 350h, NX 450h+ vehicles - Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) System Reprogram. Customer Remedy Notification - Please contact your Lexus dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment to have the campaign remedy performed. A software error can cause the Vehicle Stability Control system (VSC) not to default to “ON” the next time the car is started under certain circumstances. This can result in noncompliance with a federal safety requirement. Operating the vehicle with VSC deactivated could increase the risk of a crash in certain driving conditions.
It does say a system reprogram and not a chip replacement.
@@lsft That’s the message that I got too. My dealer says that they need a “part” to service the recall. Maybe they need a tool to do the software adjustment. I don’t know.
I'm surprised that they don't have the tool as it should be the same for all Lexus vehicles. Maybe it broke and they need a new one? Who knows. Keep me posting on your situation.
Lexus dealer in Toronto is better than here in Montreal. Lexus Dealers here are nothing like Luxury brand. No doughnuts***, it's all boring. They say it's because of Covid, so they don't put Doughnuts (BS). Sometimes I wait for my car with empty stomach and hunger. For the touchup paint, I recommend the brush paint instead of touchup. Costs a bit more but looks smooth.
Thanks - I typically buy both brush and the original pen for touch up. Just have options when it's needed.
The dealership before covid served breakfast and/or lunch depending on the timing of your service. They had a cafe upstairs, but due to covid it had not come back yet. Not sure if it will ever come back.
@@lsft i considered them cheap. BMW dealers have café sandwich lounge open all these time except for the dine in time was required to close. I went to the State, there’s a Lexus dealer with even chocolate fountain ⛲️ that was a wow.
I agree, our dealerships in Canada are not at par to the US where they have spas and stuff. I guess our market is just too small.
i am keen to see you do a road trip with the 450+ but purely on EV & PHEV say 1000km no petrol in the tank
That is not going to happen. With only 60ish km of EV range, the Canadian charging infrastructure is not good enough to do a charge like that. 1000km on pure EV is like charging 17 times x 2.5 hrs (fastest charge) will take 42 hrs and 30 mins of just charging time. I am going to be doing a road trip soon, and I will fill up the car and will see how much it will take me.
I opted to go for the Lexus dashcam, too. I've typically gone aftermarket, but there are rattles despite being professionally installed in both cars. It's cumbersome to deal with. Let me know how you like the dashcam.
I've had the same dashcam on my previous gen NX. I wouldn't say it's best in class. It only has 1080p resolution, does save GPS, G force information and you can opt to have audio recorded or not. You could also press adventure mode so that it will save your videos while you are driving on an adventure and want to keep that video. But it's integrated and you won't blame any electronic things not working because you had someone install a dashcam in your car. :)
@@lsft Perfect. Honestly, the difference between 4k and 1080, for me, is whatever. Cool feature with the adventure mode!
Wait you go to dvn Lexus. That’s my dealer too lol.
Many go there...
I noticed that you had the dealer change some settings that (I assume) we can't change thru the menu...the volume of the turn signal indicator and the number of times the signal flashes for a lane change. Are there other things that can be changed by the dealer?
My dealer didn't have the updated list. I am trying to pull a list and create a video on it to help others.
Just want to ask if you dont mind.. they already fix the RD7 recall on your NX,how about the RD5? Because apparently there are 2 active recalls now on all 2022 NX.
Yes - RD7 (VSC issue) has been fixed. It is a software update that the dealership does on your vehicle. Mine was only recalled for RD7 - not all NXs have the RD5.
A smaller subset of NX owners (the early ones) have RD7 recall (missing spot welds). I have read from forums that many with that recall brought their cars to the dealership for inspection to see if there are any missing welds. I haven't seen anybody reporting that they have missing welds.
