Soulful, unique & immortal. Ever since I heard this tears ago, I keep coming back to it at one time or another. The uniqueness is in the touch, the expression, Red's talking and you listen.
Liam Sizer Liam - you are absolutely correct - personal preferences rule the day. I was too pontifical in my comment! Hopefully jazz is your preferred music of choice - as it is mine.
TOM NEEDHAM Hi, Tom. I'm listening to Errol Garner as I type this! Thanks to my parents, I have an eclectic taste in music. Classical, swing, be bop and also the marvelous singing of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Sinatra and Tony Bennett, in fact almost anything played or sung to perfection. I also like Z.Z.Top, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd,Queen etc. But if I were to be told I could listen to one genre and one genre only, jazz would win out, without any doubt. I'd rather listen to Oscar Peterson and Co. than Christmas carols! any day! You have a good one, y'hear?

As good as Red's version is, there is nothing to compare with the Four Freshmen & Five Guitars' version - check it out.
That depends on whether you like piano or guitar most. I prefer piano but I also like guitar music, but, given the choice, piano takes it for me.
