  • The knight is a spectacular ode to one of the oldest and most universally played games on Earth - chess! 2nd coin in the series, this standout silver coin celebrates the most important piece in the game, the knight. A checkmate is all but guaranteed with a phenomenal fusion of features including the purest precious metal content, an eye-catching design, and a unique Black Proof finish.
Chess has a rich history and has evolved many times to reach its modern form. Thought to have originated from a war game known as ‘chaturanga’, or ‘shatranj’, popular in southern parts of central Asia after 600 BC, chess spread to Europe via the Byzantine and Arabian Empires. ‘The knight’ is the only piece that can jump over other chess pieces. It is also the only piece that does not move in a straight line
The Black Proof silver coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is dedicated to the Chess Knight. The knight is the only so-called light piece in chess, and the only piece that can jump over other chess pieces. It is also the only piece that does not move in a straight line. These distinctive movements and tactical abilities make the knight a very valuable asset in the game of chess. There are a total of four knights in a game of chess, two for each player.
The motive features a depiction of a knight on a horse and is based on the alternative name for the knight, “horse”. The knight is presented with armor, lance and shield, which again shows the “horse” token. Next to him is the inscription “KNIGHT”. The reverse shows the portrait of King Charles III as well as the weight, fineness, denomination and year of issue. The Chess Knight silver coin in Black Proof is limited to only 999 pieces worldwide and is delivered in the original wooden box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Do these type of coins generally keep their value? Some 1oz coins are nuch more expensive than others but just scared incase all i end up with years down the line is something that will fetch standard price for 1oz coin

@@marka4925 i get what u mean, its a gamble u have to take. Some will do better than other but they will all sell for more than standard bullion as they are proof or have higher details.
