Hey Shaun, since I'm somewhat early I just wanted to bring up a possible case you might enjoy digging into.
Robert Maudsley is labeled as "Britain's most dangerous prisoner" and was referred by the media as "Hannibal the Cannibal", but tbh I genuinely feel sorry for him and not his victims.
To sum it up as much as possible, he grew up in a very messed up family and suffered severe abuse to a point in which he ran away from home as a young teen (15ish, iirc) and resorted to prostitution in order to survive. One day, at age 21, he was solicited by a man that, after having sex with him, showed him pictures of children he had sexually assaulted. As a survivor of sexual abuse himself, Maudsley was so angry that he proceeded to garrot that man to death. He was sentenced to life in prison. Maudsley would go on to murder three inmates: 2 child molesters (as a sidenote, he ate the brain of one of them while in prison with a spoon) and a man who had killed his wife. Because of those crimes, Maudsley was put in solitary confinement, where he remains still to this day since 1983. He receives no visits, and lives in complete isolation. For some time, he was allowed to talk to a psychiatrist but as he started to show progress, the guards ended his interviews with said mental health professional.
To be completely honest, while the acts of violence Maudsley has committed are horrendous, it does feel like the justice system is tormenting him. 20 years in solitary confinement, stuck in a 'Silence of the Lambs' type cell, for 23 hours a day without receiving any sort of psychological help at any point of his life, which he clearly should have received...
I am not the most optimistic person when it comes to the rehabilitation of murderers, but I sincerely believe he deserved that chance. I think that, if he had received mental health treatment, he would not have killed those 3 inmates.
Idk, Maudsley's case has just been of great impact to me, since it highlights how fucked up the justice system is. It failed him both as a child and as an adult and that is horrifying. I just have many feelings about it and could go on and on for hours, but I'll leave it here. I just feel like more people should be questioning the treatment he has received (and then lack of, too, ofc)
The damage worsened when the guards stopped the treatment, I thought solitary confinement was regarded as torture and they were coming down hard on it, why is this man still not being given the chance to offer the world the good things he has, gifts, talents, etc.

@@Soulseeologia actually, Shaun could reach out to the psychiatrist that interviewed Maudsley for a couple years. I'm sure he would be willing to be interviewed. He got really invested emotionally in Maudsley. They'd sit inside the cell together, which at first completely freaked Bob Johnson out. After the prison put an end to his chats with Maudsley, Johnson tried to send him letters, but all went left unanswered (if you ask me, it is possible the prison simply decided not to deliver them). The only letter Johnson received from Maudsley contained only three letters, "All alone now".
Never thought I'd become emotionally invested in the well-being of a serial killer (tbh I'd rather have Maudsley on the streets than the kind of people he killed), but the complete isolation he leaves in is equally as inhumane as his crimes. Anyway Imma stop ranting now.

I worked with people with “ challenging behaviour “ and learning disabilities , I always found female aggression far more unpredictable than male aggression , In 30 years I’ve had two thumps from males because they were upset , that was it ! All forgotten , Women would come at you with nails , grabbing your hair and trying to bite and they would target you for ages afterwards , I much preferred working with male patients even though I’m 5 foot 5 and was around 130 pounds at the time
@BadwOLF ΒLaZεY➐ keep in mind that in this clip he did say that many of these women were abused by men.......and self-harm is an expression of a deep rooted hurt...as for women holding grudges, yes that is true, but men do as well...perhaps they don't with each other, but they do when it comes to women...Perhaps we have to take these stories, understand them with compassion and learn from them.

Jesus Christ .. what trauma does to the human mind is horrific .. exactly why pedos deserve the death penalty ,the damage they do is beyond belief
Those situations are sometimes so incredible, you react by laughing. It's not unusual to react that way. It's not funny, it's tragic and human defense response can be laughter. So sad and heartbreaking when you hear how people have been treated from day one.
How can people be allowed to self harm
Even though I've been on the other side of the bars than Sam in other establishments, he seems like he would have been one of the better screws that do exist, there's good and bad in all walks of life and respect to Sam for telling the truth and he is a brilliant talker and story teller, respect 👍
Don’t be fooled this man about 10 years ago was a obnoxious bastard I speak the truth screamed in my face swearing like a physici for parking in his space behind his home , which was a genuine mistake he was off his head brought me to tears , stated he deals with fucking idiots 12 hours a day everyday to come home and have to deal with me , I will never forget this mans face ever attitude horrible bastard..

How dark, abused kids, go to prison, face further punishment, live a living death by being drugged up all because it takes less staff to look after drugged up people who shit where they sit as they can't even manage the loo, lay in bed, do nothing creative, or turn violent and their lives spiral down. Where is the rehabilitation that? Every human has something to offer the world, even nonced people, Oprah Winfrey was repeatedly sexually abused and her male relative got her to read loads and loads of fiction and she is successful, I can think of many creatives who have been abused and they live productive lives, not violent on the one end or lifeless breathing corpses on the other end.

Self harm is rife in women's jails. I saw so many girls cutting up etc. You'd have to hide your razor CUs its been known for them to nick your razor to cut up.
Its just crazy how many girls do it inside. I can still picture women's arms all scarred up.
I also remember a girl who's insert stuff in her wounds and her front bum n back!! They shouldn't be in jail they need to be in psych wards. Its so sad. X

@@KateBates22zabu Thanks I should have been more clear, there are no UK female prison videos on RUclips, plenty of American, wonder if the female ones are reserved for the dark web, as women's distress is more complex and they can do crazier things than men, not being sexist, im female, just wonder if HMP's in UK videos are too dark for clear web.
@@kr1221E idk. All the prison videos in my YT feed n quarantined has me a tad paranoid what with predictive programming etc. I couldn't survive in prison, I'm 72. n a light sleeper.

Not going to watch this, we know there are dark and horrific things that happen everywhere, including prison, sometimes we need to know the extremes to make value judgement on quite how bad things are in any particular environment, but, lining gory details up like ducks to entice viewers is one of the things you won't be proud of as you mature.
