Bamberger's, Abraham & Straus, Lord & Taylor, Stern's, plus a few more that I’ll surely remember after I press the post button?

Strawbridge & Clothier and their discount chain Clover. I wonder why Sears and K Mart (down to the final stores) weren’t mentioned? So many places gone (my mom was a shopper!)! Amazing that Macy’s is still around (but struggling), but we’re a part of the end of some chains they bought out.

In Detroit we lost Hudson's, Bonwit Teller, Crowley's, Marianne's, ( which resembled Forever 21,) Montgomery Ward, Federal's, plus I know I'll think of more. We lost Henri Bendel in NYC and May Co merged and became Macy's.
