Your slightly longer hair emphasizes your beauty. Very nice. House looks great and will likely please everybody. Honestly would have made the window over the sink a bit bigger for more light.
Amazing makeover! Once they have kids they can use the "formal" living spaces. Once Grandma sees this makeover and her future grands she'll be fine with how they want to make it their own I'm sure. Beautiful home now!
Ben and Erin are my favorite HGTV remodelers because they make every home unique and true to its origins. It's wonderful to see what a great relationship they have with each other as husband and wife, too. I got bored after a while with Chip and JoAnna Gaines' homes because they all ended up looking the same: white shiplap, open floor plan, white, white, white and shabby chic.
Well I can remember when Chip and Joanna Gaines, were just happy with a little show on TV, well now they went all Hollywood, and you have to pay to watch them, in my opinion, Ben and Erin are following the foot steps of chip and Joanna Gaines, becoming to Hollywood for liking, even the property brothers, have fallen prey to the Hollywood 💁🏻♀️
I'm glad this couple got a relaxed living area (the terrarium coffee table Ben made was fantastic!), 'cause the formal living room looked like it was straight out of Grandma's living room. I'm guessing that the sofa and the two powder blue chairs were Grandma's, and didn't look at all like something a young couple would have. But it was Grandma's house, and she had some rules.
I kinda liked grandmas rules when it comes to a formal dining and living room; keep the elegance from that generation going. They also got a great deal on such a beautiful lot and square footage.
I wouldn't change a thing. Ben and Erin are so skilled at refreshing each home while still keeping the historic aspect. Phenomenal renovation. No doubt this cute young couple will enjoy their lives there. That espresso maker, cup rinser, and hot water spout were extra special touches.
💙Me too. The huge island & breakfast bar with all that prep space & drawer storage...stunning! Love the personalized details in his ☕️Coffee Station too. Ben & Erin have yet to disappoint me in their kitchen design. Always looks custom & charming even when they 🔨 repurpose🪚 existing cabinetry. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
They should have placed granny’s portrait elsewhere but I loved the handrail and the chandelier in the foyer, but the. Again I love vintage style mixed with modern pieces.
Uh…is the grandmother still alive? If not…say goodbye to her rules. I hang on to a lot of my ancestors’ belongings and have a respect for them even though they’re gone, but at some point, we live our own lives.
I love Ben and Erins work - they are very, very good at what they do but I had an unusual response to this one. I wouldn't normally even mention it but I had such a strong reaction to the wife here. It is a little weird that the clients bought her grandmothers house, but that would be ok...except that she is not happy that they included a part of her husbands family history. I am really good at reading people and picking up on subtle nuance. I was watching her facial expressions while he was talking about how grateful he was that Ben and Erin had included some of his family history. It was very clear from her facial expressions that this was supposed to be about her and not him. If you don't believe me just go back and watch her reaction when he is talking about his family things towards the end of the video and see it for yourself. It is really unfortunate..
I think you’re reaching just a little bit, she was not trying to make it all about her. I’ve seen this whole episode and his family was involved with it and the wife was very happy they were able to incorporate some of his family’s stuff since it was her family’s house. Also they were shown another house in the episode that they could have bought, but they both chose together to buy her grandparents house instead
What a pain to keep the succulent table going. "Oh, you just every once in awhile, romove the top and spritz e everything. I keep house plants and theyve gotta have light to grow. 😮
No need for all the upper cupboards when you have bottom cupboards and pantries. If they insist on having them they should provide a ladder to get into them.
Grandma's rules are annoying! Things change and you need to allow the younger generation to do their thing. I absolutely do not like her control over their living decisions.
She may have given them a deal on the price. It might be painful to come over and have everything too different. They knew the rules when they bought it. They could have turned it down. Beautiful results.
4,000 sq ft home on acreage for $144K is a wildly generous gift. They could have bought another property at market value if they wanted to do whatever they wanted. They chose to make that deal.
I love so much of what Erin does in these homes. But the constant use of institutional green is no better than flipped-home- gray. It's lazy. Work with different palettes, Erin. You're an artist and can do so much better. And boxing in the refrigerator is a terrible burden to stick homeowners and future home buyers with.
Well it's called HGTV UK - but that is not UK, that's likely the US, i have neve seen any home like that in UK - I'm a Brit - and the guys are all speaking with American accents i think or this is possibly Canada - so ??? not that it matters, i just think it's confusing that's all !
Sorry! Granny would have to get over it! I'd make the house my house...wirh all due respect! Lol The ugly heirloom would be carefully packed away too. Lol Still looks like an old persons home too.😏 The kitchen is only room that looks up to date and the fixtures are nice and modern. What they are calling "formal" looks old and dated! 🤦
My brother gave his house to his son, and moved out to a smaller home, after having VERY proudly done all sorts of improvements over the years. The first thing my nephew did was paint a beautiful brick archway between the living & dining rooms bright white - my brother had a fit - I loved the paintwork, but it had not occurred to my brother that his son would want to change anything ! My poor brother - he is still mortified about it !

“Like socks on a rooster”………….goodness I haven’t heard that for years since my southern grandma died. It made me laugh….and remember.
Never heard that one before! Great expression
This house was positively palatial for 1955! Very nice reno too while respecting the history.
What a beautiful home. I love all the new touches, the flowy curtains, the soft colors. This is a house that will be classic for years and years.

It would have been really fun to see, what Grandma had to say 😊

Lovely as always but I would have made that new cased opening higher.

So very nice!

I've never heard of a coffee cup rinser. Not a bad idea.
Bit over the top if you also have a spray hose main tap.

I can kinda see what you're saying. I have a feeling she's like that about many things.

It’s okay. Pretty for the reveal. Then when everything dies, dump it all out and it becomes a place to put mementos.
When I watched this episode, I think the girl was a florist.

The rules were ridiculous. They paid for the house. Smh. I loved the curtains and I hate curtains. Lol
