In this video I show how to properly diagnose and repair a power jack on a Acer Chromebook model CB3-431. This procedure should be close to the same on other similar models. Power jacks on laptops can break for many different reasons and replacing these jacks can go from easy to difficult. Great video. I would recommend a step before hand that the battery be disconnected and power discharged before touching anything inside.

Great video sir :) Is a Chromebook CB5-571 set up the same way.. Mine fell off my bed. It will still charge if I tape the charger tight to it. But I'd like to be able to fix it. Do you think I still need to order a new one? Thanks

Hello. Am wondering possibly if you know why after my grandson was on my then fairly new and nice laptop it was down to 14 percent battery then when I tried to turn it on to use it was a black screen. Wouldn't accept a charge. Would not do a thing. What could he have done to it?

@@TimsComputerRepair I was scared to open the dozen screws in the back but after watching I did it and taped down that metal receptacle and now the charging jack stays put! It was loose and wasn't making the connection, anymore. I felt victorious! :)

I have an Acer chromeboook CB5-571. The wire to the power jack is below the board so the fix is not this simple.
