Dammika Perera you are wrong. Local cos deducted tax at source at 10% at time it was paid during previous regime. The new tax law made it 18% but recoverable at time the individual is making tax declaration next year. So what was easily recovered as a direct tax re dividend now the tax has to be recovered with an assessment .May be some ppl may even not declare this dividend income. What a stupid idea. How can we justify non payment of dividend tax for foreign investors? What is the new investment that came in. ? We find foreign investment taking flight out of our country.?
The govt made a mistake by treating interest income which was deducted at source also as an assessable income. They could have easily increase the interest income tax to even 15 % for high interest earners and kept it as a with holding tax . Easily collectible and immediate income for the govt. BTW I don’t think most of the ppl asked for reduced tax from Gotas Govt. VAT & Tax reduction was totally uncalled for.

Dammika Perera you are wrong. Local cos deducted tax at source at 10% at time it was paid during previous regime. The new tax law made it 18% but recoverable at time the individual is making tax declaration next year. So what was easily recovered as a direct tax re dividend now the tax has to be recovered with an assessment .May be some ppl may even not declare this dividend income. What a stupid idea.
How can we justify non payment of dividend tax for foreign investors? What is the new investment that came in. ? We find foreign investment taking flight out of our country.?
The govt made a mistake by treating interest income which was deducted at source also as an assessable income. They could have easily increase the interest income tax to even 15 % for high interest earners and kept it as a with holding tax . Easily collectible and immediate income for the govt.
BTW I don’t think most of the ppl asked for reduced tax from Gotas Govt. VAT & Tax reduction was totally uncalled for.

චතුර අපි රටක් හදනවා නම් ලෝකේ අනිත් රටවල් ගත්ත solution හැමතිස්සෙම බලන්න ඕනේ ඒව compeya කරලා තමයි මේ රට හදන්න ඕනේ මොකද දියුණු වෙච්ච මිනිහෙක් දිහා බලල මිසක් අපිට දියුණු වෙන්න බැහැ එක නැති ගොඩක් අපේ රටේ දේශපාළුවෝ කරපු වැරදි ඉතුරුවෙලා තියෙනවා. මේවට බැනලා වැඩක් නැහැ නමුත් දැන් හැමෝම එකතු වෙලා මේ රට ගොඩ දානවනං එක එකාට ඇඟිල්ල දික් නොකර අනිත් රටවල්වල ගත්තු ප්‍රතිපත්තිගරුක නීති රීති සිස්ටම් එකකට යන්න වෙනවා මම තමයි. මේක හරිම අමාරුයි නමුත් කලයුතුමයි එහෙම නැතුව අනිත් රටවල් වලට ගිය ගමන අපිට යන්න බැරි වෙයි.

1. රාජ්‍ය සේවකයන්ගෙන් නිසි ප්‍රයෝජන ගත යුතුයි.
සුළු පිරිසක් හැර වැඩි පිරිසක් රාජ්‍ය සේවකයන් නිසි ලෙස තමන්ගේ රාජකාරිය කරන්නේ නැහැ. අම්පාරෙ ඉඳන් ඇමතිවරයා හම්බවෙන්න මිනිසෙකු කොළඹ එන්නේ කුමකටද ? ඒ ආවත් ඔහුගේ වැඩය සිදු නොවේ. සමහරවිට ඇමතිවරයාද හමු නොවේ. ඒ මිනිසාගේ කොළඹ ඒමට එම ප්‍රදේශයේ අදාළ නිළධාරිනුත්, එයට සම්බන්ධ කොළඹ ඉහළ නිළධාරිනුත්, ඇමතිවරයාත් වගකිව යුතුයි නේද? ඒත් ඒ මිනිසාට සිදු වන්නේ රස්තියාදු වීමට පමණි. රාජ්‍ය ආයතනයකට වැඩක් කර ගන්නට ගියහොත් එම ගිය පුද්ගලයාට බොහෝ දේවල් එපා වේ. එම තත්ත්වයට රාජ්‍ය නිළධාරීන් වගකිව යුතුය. සියළුම තැන්වල වාගේ රාජ්‍ය සේවය අකාර්යක‍ෂම වී ඇත. අවම වශයෙන් සිය වැටුපටවත් හරි හැටි සේවය නොකිරීමට රාජ්‍ය සේවකයන්ගෙන් වැඩි පිරිසක් වගබලාගෙන ඇත. එමෙන්ම තවත් පිරිසක් මහජනයා මංකොල්ලකමින් සිටියි. මේ රජයවත් මේ තත්ත්වය විසඳාවි යැයි අපි සිතුවෙමු. එය එසේ නොවේ.
2. බදු නොගෙවන්නන් බදු ගෙවන තත්ත්වයට පත් කළ යුතුය.
ඒ සඳහා නිසි සංවේදී ක්‍රමවේදයක් සැකසිය යුතුවාක් මෙන්ම දැඩි නීති රීති ද ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ යුතුය. විශාල ලෙස බදු නොගෙවන්නන් විශාල පිරිසක් සිටියි. බදු ගෙවන්නන්ද විශාල ලෙස අඩු බදු මුදලක් ගෙවා ඇ`ග බේරා ගන්නා තත්ත්වයකි ඇත්තේ. එය නිසි ලෙස කළමණාකරණය කළ හොත් විශාල බදු මුදලක් ලබා ගත හැකි වනු ඇත.
