Bruh, the white people in the UK are way different. The first time I went there I was impressed with their knowledge of hip hop, and this was back in the late 80's and early 90's.
When this came out after Buffalo Girls had hit, everyone was in a freakin hip hop trance at all this crazy crazy phat new kind of music THAT WAS CHANGING EVERY DAY! It was the best creative period of hip hop ever!! I used to listen and stare at the 12inch single for hours!
Agreed, all music & programming done by THE ART OF NOISE, however because of Malcolm forcing Trevor Horn & Gary Langan (2 members of Art Of Noise ) to travel the world to get all the cool African, Spain & America effects in there Fairlight keyboard, an entire new sound was born....I stared at McLaren & Art Of Noise album covers for hours aswell...80's was insane with creativity...Buffalo Gals & Hobo Scratch is just as important as Afrika Bambaataa's Planet Rock track....🤘🏾
Malcolm McClaren passed on, I had no idea that he was dead. Do you know how, when he died?? I Loved all his Cutz. He was responsible for some fashion, dance, some language slanging. Wow!!
OH YEAH!!! This is my jam. You can't help but get up and dance to it. This song was huge back in the day. Loved it then and still listening to it in 2014. I'm getting ready to listen to it again and again.
@@tyreed.3716 Agreed. As a counterpoint I saw a heartfelt apology on a RUclips comment chain today. Warmed my heart. There are good people still out there. Luv and Peace.
Oh the memories this brings back,we had our own little break dance group and hanging out at the rink.I love sharing the memories with my 12 year old daughter.
This was the very first single I ever got. I remember it clearly. I got it from tokens from crisp packets I think. My younger brother and I chose singles - He chose I'm still standing by Elton John and I chose this. I remember liking this better than the A-side. At the time it was unlike anything I'd heard before. My introduction to the underground. I played guitar at the time but this track hit my sub-conscious and later I got into making Detroit house and dub. All the influences in this track. Weird how the tracks you hear influence your life long after. Luv and Peace.
Tavistock Institute is a very well-oiled machine. Time travel DOES exist, just push play and bam! you're back to 1983 chasing girls at jr. high school dances, doing robotics and trying to scratch that vinyl itch. Remember Roxanne? Me too. Malcolm McLaren was well known at the time and he tried to bring this whole vibe he was seeing to industry people in the early 80s who werent interested, so he packaged it under his name and it was to just be sold in England but then it got here and got big. Put his name to it was the only way he could put it out! Kinda messed up because I dont think the Supreme Team got paid, but thats the business!

Too bad that "Aaaah, she's looking like a hobo" was never made available in a clear form, like "Aaaah, that stuff is really fresh!" from Fab 5 Freddy. It would have been used heavily.
