But also, She's the Man, like I always looooved it and related so much to Viola, and yet I didn't understand why until way way later aka when I found out about genderfluidity. ✨

Loved everything you mentioned! The Emperor's new groove is just SO CLEVER their sarcasm and irony is chefskiss. I remember I rewatched it like a year ago and I laughed even harder than I did when I was younger because I got a different level of irony I didn't get before and I thought "wow I just LOVE this movie"

I recommend the series Natsume's Book of Friends. It has a lot of seasons and its a very old series, but it definitely gives me the similar feeling Ghibli movies gave me - hugs, smiles, sometimes tears. Ok, a lot of tears.

I recently saw the Paddington films for the first time, and they are just some of the most heartfelt, funny and generally wholesome things I've seen in a while, so they're definitely up there for me. Yeah I only watched the first Paddington movie so far but really liked it!

"Mary Poppins" is one of the few Disney films from Walt's lifetime that still sticks with me, in part because you don't need to know its production history to know the entire cast and crew had an absolute blast putting it together. Their confidence and joy is the equivalent of multiplying Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers by 100.
Anything by Edgar Wright is indeed a pleasure, ESPECIALLY if you see it on the big screen. "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World" and "Baby Driver" unlocked for me the special feeling of limitless possibilities; I had to see each of them at least twice.
A recent discovery I made that's so gleeful in its choices is actually a horror film: Nobuhiko Obayashi's "House". From beginning to end it refuses to take itself seriously, and the damn-raving-bonkers situations the seven girls experience while they navigate the haunted house left me wedged between stunned silence and intense giggles. It's like if "The Spongebob Squarepants Movie" was live-action. (And by the way that's another serotonin go-to. Spongebob and Patrick are the best dumbass duo.)

My favorite comfort movies include Greta Gerwig's Little Women and Lady Bird.
Both of those movies are like encapsulated nostalgia about what it was to grow up and the little things that we once took for granted.
A really comforting movie, that just hits the spot when it comes to self-indulgent daydreaming for me is The Cat Returns!
I don't know it's just such a fun little movie, perfect for a short escape from reality.

It’s uncanny how many times you mention movies I love, even when they are on the obscure side. Hot Fuzz? You nailed that one. Another Simon Pegg movie I would put on this list is Man Up. Terrible title that tells you nothing about the plot, but completely charming movie.
I 100 percent agree about Emperor’s New Groove. Totally underrated and so clever.
I would also include Princess Bride, and When Harry Met Sally as my go-to feel-good movies.
For me, any Disney movie makes me feel comfy and happy but I think "Lilo & Stitch" is so pretty with the music and the characters (especially Stitch ^u^)
