This was a really fun part of the campaign. I made one of the druids really powerful and gave him a special custom staff with magical powers.
Yester Hill is a significant location in the Curse of Strahd campaign, set in the dark realm of Barovia. It is an ancient and sinister site, steeped in druidic rituals and dark magic. The hill is sacred to the evil druids of Barovia, who revere Strahd von Zarovich as a god-like figure. At the top of the hill stands a massive, blood-stained stone altar used for sacrificial ceremonies to appease their dark powers.
Yester Hill is also the site of an enormous, twisted tree known as the Gulthias Tree, which has roots in vampiric corruption and can spawn blights. This tree was created from a stake driven through the heart of a powerful vampire, and its presence has corrupted the land around it. The druids often gather here to perform dark rituals, including attempting to summon a massive tree blight called Wintersplinter, a living weapon meant to destroy the enemies of Strahd.
The hill is shrouded in an eerie mist, and its atmosphere is one of palpable dread. The spirits of ancient barbarians are said to haunt the area, tied to the land by the powerful magic that permeates Yester Hill. This location is crucial for players seeking to challenge Strahd, as it holds important clues and potential allies-or enemies-depending on how they navigate its dark secrets.
