Something that I'm not sure you're aware from watching that is extremely helpful to know: billy's core passive crouching shot damage is applied for every attack he does after triggering crouching shot at least once and not getting hit. It works on his dash attacks, dodge counter, ult, EX, you name it, so always try and enter crouching shot first to not waste that huge dmg% buff
Yeah, i thought it was the case too I just tested on VR training room: Billy EX special attack without crouch: 10k damage per hit EX special attack during crouch: 13k damage per hit Seems his crouch is something like snapshot buff, so any of his attacks/button pressed during his crouching mode will attain the buff
Here's a tip for you btw, Billy's Crouching shot's damage dealt or most of his attacks including his EX special. The Damage, Anomaly build, impact etc. are all based off how close Billy is too the enemy, so they'll deal far more right up close. Grace's basic attacks also seem to suffer from this, though no other projectile attack or ranged attack does (note only her basics nothing else, where with billy it's mostly everything.)
@@sealjow Billy is super mobile so go 6m away to gain the buff and then get back close. The buff does last 8 seconds after all and getting 6m away refreshes the timer.
@@sealjow 6 meters away in game is one tile and a half (vr training room tiles) that 6m is probably around the max you can go further from the enemy before loosing damage since it is HIS w engine
@@sealjow Just focus on using his dash attack often with perfect dodge counters. Don't focus on doing his crouching mode all that often, but if you can mange it then do it. His gameplay is really enjoyable and plays mostly off enemy positioning, dash attacking often (to activate the engine as often as possible, plus if you have his mindscap you will start gaining energy off it's use.) and dodge counters.

(i didn't explain this in the last comment since i wasn't aware of this) So at certain ranges he drops damage down to 50% of the expected original damage and then from really far away he drops it down by 75% of the expected original damage. His engine which requires you to activate it at 6m, from my personal testing.. i believe the range before drop down damage occurs is about 1m-13m/14m (this was only from my personal testing though.) after that point your damage be basically be halved.

The problem is billy is that currently there are no optimal physical team yet. The other physical agent we have is Nekomata and Piper, and both of them are kind of filled a similar role as Billy (Piper is more like a anomaly setter/ semi stunner). We have no choice but use him with the entire cunning hares squad, but of course it lacking element synergy...
We're in luck: Finally we have a strong physical support for Billy: Caesar! She even lets you run Lucy too with her passive active for a 2x strong buffs on billy

But when you get M2 Billy.. he's a different character 😂😂 That's quite an interesting choice in sets though had My Billy on 2PC Woodpecker and 4 Piece Puffer I'd like to experiment but I'll just stay on my set... Currently suffering on the main stat and substat roll curse... Bound to happen... Def and HP goes hard 😢

You're playing him wrong. There is a also a reason as to why his signature lasts a whole 8 seconds and is extremely easy to keep up. Playing from afar is bait, its not the way to play him at all and in fact you want to be as close to the enemy as possible. All of his kit has synergy with everything he does so lets deconstruct it all and explain the biggest thing. His core passive is a UNIVERSAL buff to all of his kit. The descrition is confusing, but once you realize how it works its all made incredibly easy. Once you crouch (roll and you see the smoke coming out) he gains this 50% dmg bonus that applies to all of his damage, you'd think it goes away after doing anything else like a skill or dash attack right? Wrong. Billy's crouching mode stays on for as long as possible in a pseudo-active state as long as you keep: 1. Simply using his basic attack consistently. 2. Use dash attacks. 3. Dodge counters, not average dodges. All of these keep up his buff, meaning you can fully abuse the 50% dmg buff to all of his kit whilst moving about using dash attack, it applies not just to his skill basic and even ultimate, but to his assaults too. If you play well, its a permanent 50% dmg buff. Knowing this, we also know that since we KEEP the buff after dash attacking, we are able to reposition, remember why I said his sig is easy to keep up? You can constantly dash attack in and out of enemy range to reposition, and come back into range with absolutely 0 dmg loss, keeping his signature's passive up forever as it lasts a whole 8 seconds. His M2 further boosts this by allowing you to dodge way more consistently using rolling shots, he's the easiest character to dodge with in the game as his kit allows for the highest combat mobility and invulnerability.His M6 is also really basic and relies on you doing this all to just get the full dmg buff, lol. In short, you're supposed to play him up close to all your enemies, be up in their face constantly reposition as his kit allows you to do so without punishing, and when you get the ultimate off at M6, with a grand 180% total dmg bonus he absolutely wipes out anything in range. And finally, always remember- crouch.
Bro assumes I play him wrong. Everything u said is correct sir but I never said otherwise. There is a sweet spot that u can have 100% uptime on his sig and still don't have reduced dmg. The thing I dislike the most is having to waste time entering crouch mode or repositioning after chains. To deal with mobs you are better off spamming the chain attack than playing around his dodge counters. For bosses you waste precious time to enter crouch mode after chain. He don't stay in crouch mode after using Ult wasting more time. Using his EX skill pushes him away making you need to reposition after 1 or 2 uses wasting more time. That's what I was saying about he being a pain to play and his kit being all over the place
@@kaiuiu_exe That’s fair, for your second worry you can cancel animations by using rolling shot into EX skill which will completely minimize any movement you do, whilst also adding damage. A thing to note too, is that you can also just switch to Nicole right after the ult to skill with her anyway, which is what you’re supposed to do to keep her buff up and switch right back to Billy. The one thing I’d say you’re right on is probably overall the getting into crouching mode after ult, but honestly for a whole 150% dmg bonus to it, it’s very worth it.
The one they're using it's the one with revolver, a 5★. Another one you can use it's also a 4★ that can benefit from Pierce characters. (unique pierce shot characters right now are Nicole and Billy)

Nicole's orb has 3 versions the short version, the moderate version and the long version. The longer you hold down the skill the longer her orb lasts. Also doing a perfect 360 and keeping it held makes the charge mode hit twice while extending the time a bit. Shooting the orb with a failed 360 makes it have a shorter duration, which is fine if you only care about the defense shred but the longer it lasts the more anomaly buildup you get for triggering corruption

With the Starlight Engine Replica, I don't know if I should be up close with Billy or at a certain distance to maximize dmg output.
