Thank you for your incredibly real and down to earth approach to the yarn festival. Your closing thoughts were so insightful and I appreciated hearing them so much!
So much work goes into the videos of the various events. I really appreciate the quality and timeliness of yours. I also agree with and appreciate your closing comments. It's a good time to go to any sheep and wool festival, and we should all be proud of our state and regional shows. There is so much more than yarn to experience. I love ours here in Wisconsin in September. Thanks again for the adventure.
Such a wonderful video! Thank you so much, I actually teared up a bit as you spoke about enjoying the seasons in your home town. I was born in NY but have been a Floridian most of my life and sadly there aren’t any yarn festivals anywhere near me! It is a bucket list for sure to attend one in the near future. I don’t have any knitting friends, so a yarn festival would mean so much to me, just to be surrounded by fiber crafters!!
I hope you find the time to go to one! There are fewer festivals there, but you live a lot closer to Four Purls, so you certainly have that going for you!
I live in Atl, and I share the same problem. I can knit something, and someone will undoubtedly ask me if I crochet it. The south crochets and that’s it. My bucket list is to make the trip there too. Some day❣️
What a beautiful area that is, those trees are something else for sure. I love the one sheep that was looking up at the camera, the way it blinked was so sweet to me. Thank you!
I've really enjoyed your walk throughs but I'm also enjoying your personal take on the events. It does sound tricky to decide what to get at each event, but I think I would go the other way from you and end up buying everything. Good on you for exercising good self control!
Thank you so much for your Rhinebeck videos. I know I will never be able to attend the festival but I love watching the videos everyone makes. Your videos this year are the best I have seen and I have watched a lot. You did a great job showing us all the events (and the traffic). Thanks!
I had a lovely time at Rhinebeck through all your Yarn Tourist videos. Well done on your purchases, I also love Miss Babs yarn colour-ways. Really do appreciate all of time you put into your wonderful videos. Thank you ❤
My mom was from upstate New York and I love it there. I’ve always wanted to go to Rhinebeck New York Sheep and Wool but cannot get anyone to go with me. Love watching your podcast and at least getting the experience.
Just go by yourself. I went to the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool festival by myself a couple of years ago. It was great fun. I drove about 6 hours, maybe a little more to get there and stayed overnight in a close by motel and had a blast. Also went to Maryland Sheep and Wool on my own. I didn’t drive all the way to Maryland by myself. My husband went with me. I attended the festival by myself and lugged all my purchases around all day bc he took the car and went looking for antique shops. It is doable.
They usually have police directing traffic. But another hint is to exit out the back, not the “regular” exit. You have to wind through some small streets but there’s no traffic.
I attended Sheep and Wool on Saturday and Sunday too, and first thing I went straight to the Polliwogs booth. I found some really nice cones of mohair and an SQ of DK yarn. Thank you for sharing about the booth in your previous videos! 😁 The traffic in the area can be crazy. I had a similar experience my first time going (3 years ago), and since then I have found lodging on the same side of the river as Rhinebeck. There aren't quite as many options, but the traffic isn't nearly as bad and I don't have to cross the bridge at the beginning/end of each day. Anyway, great vlog as always! 😊
Come ooon! Miss Babs! So dang pretty! I kept saying come on though all of your videos this week! Thanks! You did a perfect job for me, it's so nice for us who can't be there!
Just found your channel when your Rhinebeck video popped into my recommendations. It was a great video. I have been catching up on all your videos! I am thrilled to see videos that are so relevant to me as I live in the same area. I appreciate that you use both a variety of affordable and special yarns. I love thrifting for knitting and craft supplies. Have you ever attended the Oswego County 4-H Fabric and Yarn sale? Its the 3rd Saturday of July in Sandy Creek. You would be in heaven! For instance I got 10 balls of Noro silk garden for $10 total.
What pattern is the sweater from Day 2? 🤩 I'm glad I stumbled on your video, it was so fun and next I'll watch the walkthroughs, which is a great idea to share.
thank you for sharing your experience, loved getting to experience Rhinebeck through your vlog!! Side note, do you have the yarns/pattern you used for your stego sweater on Day 2? I'm obsessed!!
That traffic sounds horrible! If possible, stay on the east side of the river because it's often the bridge that's the worst. Hyde Park, Poughkeepsie, and Fishkill all have hotels and AirBnBs and I had very little traffic heading south on Route 9. I realize this is less convenient for getting home but it's worth it!
Thanks for the video! As an Australian my takeaway was that I was shocked there wasn’t a toaster in your Air BnB! If that happened here there would be a riot hahahahaha
Thank you for sharing ! You did an great job showing us a wonderful weekend

Where do you live in Florida? I live in Ft Lauderdale area in the winters. If you are close by we could meet up.
@@caroldesousa7900 I’m also in Fort Lauderdale, I’m in Wilton Manors.

Great video!! Thanks for sharing Rhinebeck with us.
Yours are the best Rheinbeck videos - thank you! Would have liked to see more of what happens on the 'hill'. But your videos are all perfection!
I'll keep that in mind next time!

That is 100% my plan for next year, the bridge definitely seems to be the problem. Live and learn 🤷🏼♀️

I wish I had seen you there as I went at the same time slot at Indie Untangled. Would have loved to meet you.
You finished the Stego sweater! It's so good.

Most importantly you got to show off the stego sweater

😂😂😂 my Airbnb was lacking in a few ways....
What pattern is that dinosaur sweater? My daughter is trying to get in university to study paleontology and i think she'd love that sweater😍
It's called the Stego Sweater by Mary P Hunt. 🦕
