- A full unabridged audiobook of the classic short horror story, "Captain Murderer and the Devil's Bargain", by Charles Dickens - complete with sounds and visuals.
As Dickens begins to recount the stories told to him in childhood by his nurse, he begins to realise that they have left an indelible mark upon him. Undeniably these tales were much more macabre in nature than he would have hoped.
The first tells the story of a sea captain, of the same ilk as Bluebeard, with a taste for the flesh of young brides. The second presents an irresistible deal at the hands of the devil, and the sorry end met by the one taking the agreement.
The tale was first published in 1860.
Read by Elliot Fitzpatrick.

Well, wasn't that jolly? lol. I've always enjoyed the fact that Dickens went straight for "Captain Murderer", when one considers his usual more fanciful surnames! Superbly read as always - thank you Elliot!
Thank you, Yvonne. This one felt somewhat autobiographical in nature. I wonder how much truth there is in this tale? ❤️
@@classicaudiobookswithelliot I confess that thought had occurred to me too... 😨
Excellently read, but that poor child! I have a nasty feeling that the story, or string of stories, is based on a child's real experience with a nursemaid.
Sir i do voice-over for videos
Me too! What a world we live in
