I might sound weird but Michael's recession looks amazing for his age and is now complimented with a haircut done by Dan's magic hands. I'm more than impressed and entertained with this tutorial.
he isn't receded. that's a natural mature hairline. iow it's just a type of hairline vs a receding hairline. very common with non-balding caucasian men and women.

Ive been cutting my hair since 2017 by myself. I learned the fading techniques from the american barbers like jorge zepeda, but Dan teached me how to master the top and everytime I use exactly his steps and techniques and the results are just brilliant. Thank you dan for giving me the opportunity to Not be depended on some shitty barbers that doesnt cut my hair like I want it. I'm not too sure on this one personally. I get it's a cut where length around the periatal is kept, but I think the skin fade looks too harsh because there's not that much room for the blend, there's like a centimeter to go from skin to a 2 on the sides. Maybe a taper would have worked better but overall a good look, just a thought 😃

@@BiglariProductions The same thing "happened", and I say "happened" like an accident, to my dad, a gent much older than this client, say 80-something. My dad's hair is very light on top and grows full on the perimeter very quickly. He was attended to by a different hair stylist than usual. He came home looking SO WEIRD. That perimeter of hair around his head which he left with was about half as wide when he came home. Family theories as to why: 1)The stylist didn't ask if he wanted a taper or a skin fade, 2) She did but didn't explain the difference, 3) He either didn't hear her or didn't 'get' the explanation, 4) He was distracted by her femininity, 5) At least 3 of the above are correct, 6) None of the above are correct...…..by the way, how many of you out there had multiple choice type quizzes and tests where the professor was a total jerk and gave choices like 5) and 6) above? It's so good to be out of school.

@@khansahb8 Sure did! The point is, if your dad's hard of hearing, is easily distracted, up in years, you'll want to tell him the difference between a skin-fade and taper before he leaves for a haircut by some rando stylist. End of story.

God damnit... this man is a master. I recently saw a butcher and its going to take a month or two to grow out so I can have it fixed. But growing it out will be easy. Finding someone who can actually cut it is going to be a real challenge.

You are obviously a master. I appreciate these videos. Thank you. I do want to say that I know there is a classic way of cutting hair, and hard to find someone deviating from it, but I personally find that so of these haircuts would look better if the short side go up much higher. I know barbers are sworn on the barber bible to blend in, etc. But often these kinds of haircuts look better with much more sharp edges, rather than the bulk at the side. Plus they last a lot longer, but then again that might not be beneficial for the barber.

I agree! This would be very informative! If you look on Dans booking website to he sets his haircut appointments for 45 minutes, so I’d also like to see why, what his entire process is without a tutorial to see how everything flows from consultation, hair wash, haircut and whatever else is apart of his system.

@Dan, if a client walks in with air/towel dried but washed hair that is unpredictably wavy, would you be willing to honor a request to provide the haircut on dry hair? I ask because my own hair is unevenly and asymmetrically wavy.I've been to enough places where they insist on at least wetting the hair, then they cut it, dry, and style it which is good basically for that day. Unfortunately, that puts me into the bind of putting in products to maintain that look or else parts of my hair will 'coil up' like a spring or curl into a direction which looks like a cowlick or a poorly executed cut and any attempt at symmetry or balance is otherwise lost due to more waves on one side than another. I basically cut my own hair for now. Thanks for reading/replying.

this may sound stupied, but i want a low fade where it is kept quite long at the top of the fade. But where i go the barbers always do the fades way too high, and i dont really know how to explain it to him.
