Interesting. If you use something like Audacity to put songs through, you can change tempo without changing pitch, so Gary would still sound like Gary, just slower. I do like this recent thing of people taking a song or instrumental and playing around with it to create a completely different version. Have you heard where people take a song and slow it down by about 400%? Most of those turn into mysterious ambient-like pieces lasting up to 30 mins, and because they're so slow the vocals sort of become more like chants or choirs, if you can hear the voice at all! :-)
