Now of all times they decided to play these songs almost on the verge of their retirement, shameful. They should have played these songs decades ago when they peaked around 2002.

Yes I'm a Bergen local, this was my first time seeing Dimmu Borgir live as they haven't played here in over a decade. Not a bad first-time concert! 😎 The whole thing being hosted by Grieghallen was also very cool, as this is a prestigeous venue that typically doesn't feature a lot of metal concerts (with a few exceptions).
These guys plateaued after the Enthrone Darkness Triumphant album. I still think the first album is their best and the Devil's Path ep. I think the Devil's Path ep is them at their strongest even if it is only 2 tracks. It's fast, ferocious and not overly polished like they would quickly become soon after. Even though Enthrone is a great album I remember being initially let down when it first came out because it wasn't as aggressive. I'm honestly amazed that they're still around after this long. I didn't think they'd be able to squeeze out a career for so long or sustain people's interest. They lost me many years ago but I do still enjoy the first 4 or 5 albums. Especially the first one.
12:58, they should really put the bad blood behind them with ICS Vortex and invite him to do the vocals live for this show. The backing track sounds so weak compared to how a live performance of this legendary song would sound.

If not aggressive, at least have it more slow and atmospheric like For All Tid and Stormblast! They didn't need all those bombastic orchestras back then to make an album feel cold and raw.
Took them sooo many years to go back to their roots lmao but at least they did i guess...... Maybe just maybe it's a hint of what the next album's gonna sound, back to the roots!? Let's find out
