watching a teapot being made is peaceful trying to make one takes lots of patience and practice. make a hundred first. Good to see this is video is available for us to watch. I have been to yxing when I worked in Suzhou. Thanks
What a privilege to get to observe such adept artists using seemingly effortless techniques. Love making burnished finishes but mine fall far short of their artistry. Certainly picked up some techniques to attempt for upgrading my attempts. Thanks so much for sharing.
Wow what an artist she is. I wish I was 40 years younger I would love to apprentice with someone like that. I have 6 wonderful old custom tea pots made in the 1910-25!period.
A hand made teapot will never be as perfect and systematic as a good machine made teapot. However, the imperfections of a hand made teapot are what make them ever more perfect. Just like a hand paint portrait. A hand painted portrait is not as realistic as a photo, but a hand painted portrait captures the human soul. This hand made teapot captures a small part of the human soul.
I actually disagree with this sentiment. If you watch some of the fine-tuning she does with handle and spout, I think it would be difficult to get a perfect machine-made pot unless based off of a human-perfect template. To know by feel exactly how the handle should be, to know from experience exactly from where and how the water should flow... To be able to make minute adjustments if anything seems "off" or even to customize for an individual, maybe a large handle for a large hand, etc... I think a human-made pot could be more perfect in many instances.
Apparently Jay-Z approves @ 18:56 . Lol! Watch with captions on. I know that is not what they’re really saying. But it is funny what the caption picks up.
For some strange reason when I watch innocent and beautiful Crofts like her majesty’s and other Croft man and women it makes think that some English are so full of them self. 🤷🏻♂️ By the way we should always admit and say thank you for your reach history. Such a great idea to build a Great Wall and mine your own business😂 The dictionary of America Africa Australia, New Zealand and some parts of Asia could have been different😅
I feel a bit like I’m watching the Oracle bake cookies in the Matrix movie... like something ordinary and something extraordinary are happening at the same time, and I’m half a beat behind understanding which part is which.
Here is true artisan skills..notice the use of both arms...both hands..both sides of the brain...today's society 's can not even use one side of the brain
Zhusha and Zhisha teapots are relatively expensive as the clay is from a specific region of China and it is running out, so the value of the teapots from there are increasing over time. They're specifically used for one type of tea most of the time as the clay is porous and absorbs the tea flavors and tannins, seasoning it over time. Usually these teapots are used most of the time for like an aged raw puerh tea as those taste really well when poured from a properly seasoned zisha clay teapot. A well-made and reasonably affordable zisha teapot from a licensed artisan can be anywhere from say 80-400$ USD depending on how many cc's it holds as well as the amount of time/design the teapot showcases.
It is clay work it can all be done without tools though they can make some things easier Essentially it is a butter knife a wooden spatula a wooden mallet carved from firewood a lazy Susan a set of calipers and a lot of practice
can i draw your attention to a recnt archaeology in china the roof tiles on the kubli khan's palace roof where a very unique soda slip wear four colours very sparkly. a lost chineses tradition.?
50 minutes watching in silence , a mastercraftswoman demonstrating subtle technique and forming processes is 50 minutes of my time gladly spent, and not a second of it wasted.
Love Xiying teapots that I bought in Guangzhou in 2020. Tea tastes better when made in these beautiful teapots. Thanks so much for the video.

True craftsmanship - the teapots seem so much more beautiful once you glimpse the amount of skill and time that's gone into their making!
I just tried to build one.
Not near as pretty.
Now I REALLY appreciate her skill
I would like to see her first ever teapot . Probably perfect

Amazing talent and thank you for sharing this with us.
Makes me feel like having a tea.. if only I had such a magnificent teapot.
I have had the pleasure of seeing this skill practiced in Yi Xing on a few occasions. The clay is very special dense mix.
I was wondering what it was - it has an incredible lustre.

Thank the heavens for youtube.

Very beautiful. Thanks.
Técnica, experiência, conhecimento, apoio de amigo, ferramentas adequadas e amor resulta em peças magníficas! Parabéns!!!
I laughed quite hard when she inflated the teapot by blowing into it. XD
I don't think she needs to look at the instruction booklet any more. One can only hope that she has a couple of apprentices.
Sự đam mê công việc tạo đến sự độc đáo trong kỹ sảo kỹ nghệ thủ công ,quá tuyệt !
I really REALLY wish, someone would do good English translation subtitles on this. The 'auto-generated' ones are hard to understand.
Amazing technique. Thank you for sharing.

Maravilhoso seu trabalho 😍😍👏👏
That is water used to wet down the table and the malet tool, yeah?
Maravilhoso!!! Agradeço por compartilhar!
incredible and outstanding!
Hi, thank you for the video !
Do you know what the approximate thickness of the slab they made is ?
Excellent workmanship, a pity that the editing mixed up the making of it towards the end it seemed to be going backwards !
Absolutely wonderful.
Unbelievable skill. Incredible
Is there a way to contact the artist or the manager of a gallery she may work with?
Does anyone know, what is the thickness of the clay when she begins to put the pieces together?
Excelente gracias
30:42--the spout is clearly askew. It's a few degrees off vertical.
22:10
They are magic to continue NZ but NO ONE TAKE ONE TWO AND THEN THREE BELL DINGS!!!
She is a very famous master of making teapot in China.

멋진 기술을 지닌 장인이십니다 대대로 이어졌으면 좋겠네요
If there is an instruction booklet in English translation, I would so love to have it!
What amazes me beyond the skill is how clean they stay🤔
what is she putting on the table and mallet? Vegetable oil?
Just some water
Не понятно это чайник декор? Отверстие под носик сделала?
Amazing.wish i could be able to do the same
That must be a really heavy wooden table to NOT bounce around while she is pounding on the clay.
Can't beat tradition son
2:00 What is the name of that tool?
Is this place in Yixing? I would like to go there and buy some tools and purple clay to try it myself. can you tell me the location? thank you
clay is a wonderful material. I wish I could have an opportunity to work with it.
周大師加油。
Better than most mass produced junk teapots.
This is not Zi Sha , or purple clay, this is Zhu Sha clay which is far more rare and valuable .
Hi, how can you tell the difference please? I’m fascinated.
what a talented lady :)
awesome!! thanks!
Maravilloso!
AMAZING!!!!
Brilliant!

これは 小さな建築だ!
la caméra qui bouge sans arrêt donne le tourni et gâche le plaisir de regarder .. dommage
At 7:07--is that the strip of clay she just got through working with... did she roll it up, and smuch/beat it flat? 9:23--ah, I see. Never mind.
I am high and I am watching this lol
Xie xie :)
