That break in the middle of the song always blows my mind. “WOMAN!!” lol! As usual your reactions and responses are spot on and refreshing. Chris Stapleton cannot really be pigeonholed. He’s a unicorn….Much like Chris Thile, Billy Strings, Bela Fleck and maybe even John Mayer (grinning at you) they are “other”, absurdly talented, and only once in a life-time individuals. I just feel blessed they live during my lifetime and I can experience their music.

You remind me so much of listening to music in the early 70’s. We would only have the music playing and would relax and listen and replay, to figure out what was being played, listen to the bass line, what are the lyrics, who is singing with the lead vocals etc.
It’s been 4 months and I’m kind of shocked you haven’t done more from this new album. You’re Stapleton reactions are top notch so hope you do more of them. Higher is a masterpiece. Top 5 songs and should be an instant classic.

Yes he writes his own songs unless occasional cover. He plays lead guitar, produces etc. He is amazing & his wife sings harmonies w/him which is awesome! John Mayer is one of the most underrated artists. It sucks that he got paid and fame from his pop love some music because his blues ability is next level.
