  • Renowned Scottish fiddle player, Paul Anderson, performing a Strathspey called "Tulloch Gorm". This traditional tune, also known translated as The Blue Hill as it was inspired by a view over the Cairngorms, was a a favourite of James Scott Skinner, who added some embellishments to the original tune.
This performance was on Saturday 4th February 2023 when Paul was performing to raise funds for the Scott Skinner monument project in Banchory.
James 'Scott' Skinner was born on 5 August 1843 at Arbeadie Village in the Parish of Banchory-Ternan. He is considered one of the most influential fiddlers in Scottish traditional music and came to be known as the 'Strathspey King'. Skinner died in 1927 but his music lives on and Paul is leading efforts to raise funds for a bronze life-size statue in his hometown of Banchory, to ensure he is remembered by his fellow musicians and admirers for years to come.

There’s a gofundme under “Strathspey King Memorial Fund”. I’d give the link, but RUclips doesn’t like outside links. Google should pull it up for you.
