I followed most of what you said, but left the "5 year old" bolts/brkt on and finagled it out. Thanks for the video. It helped me make up my mind to do this job myself.
@@redneckengineering7739 oh, it SUCKED, for a minute. But afterward, looking back, not really that bad. Thanks again Brother. It is very hard to find people working on these things and posting it.
@@redneckengineering7739 UGH! Next time I should do the compression check first, even thought it most likely needed the delete...... 90psi all cyl. Did I mention UGH? lol Oh well, time to bore and build.
I've done quite a few of them what I usually do it completely take out the mount with the single bolt. I then swing the pipe up high enough that I dont have to remove it from the ski to install the D-plate just put a towel inside to catch debris I did a 2000 xlt1200 yesterday that converter was in pieces.
Man! May u can help me, my ski start blink the warning light and exhaust light. But the ski not lose power, still fast. What u think about? And also see the wire on top of the cat is disconnected on the bottom, but i can found the spot to connect.
It’s disconnected that is why the alarm is going off there is a little plug on the left side where all the wires go that it plugs into you just have to find it it is hard to see or just hit the silence button on the dash and let it be just have to heat it every time you get on it
The D Plate is not fully open because the engine requires some back pressure, without back pressure the engine will not last as long, its the same as disconnecting your exhaust on a car at the engine it has more power but will wreck the motor in a short running time. All engine exhaust system are designed to give some back pressure on the motor. This is why race cars have straight pipes on the engine, equals zero back pressure and more power.

Make sure you have a good gage

How would you say the Ski runs now that you installed the D Plate? Did you have to reset anything with the Computer?

What oil do you use for your jet ski
Whatever’s on sale
Once you switch to the "D" plate you can use any quality TC-W2 or TC-W3 oil. I use oil from Cabelas @ $12 a gallon.

This is all wrong but ok
Did you reuse the head gasket or get a new one
I have done both with no issue
Nicely done Red. Where can I get a D plate? Also can you do a video on cleaning fuel injectors.
It doesn’t help you injectors and should be able to find it anywhere online
Does it have to be tuned or anything ?
No
Nicely done
Thanks tried to keep it as short and as sweet as possible now just got to figure out what’s wrong with the carburetor
I like your videos
thanks much more to come!!!
Where can I get the cat delete gasket thing
Google
@@redneckengineering7739 nvm mine alr deleted
Look on line. Yamaha "D" plate.
Why you delete the Cat converter??
Because I can
Lmao take the head of no u don't afer to
you are absolutely wrong about having to pull the head. sorry
Obviously you cannot pay attention
Remove lower exhaust at tip, then rotate exhaust, no need to remove head .
Dood you don't have to pull the head to get the exhaust off, now you need a new head gasket.
It makes it so much easier. Nobody said that you had to do it that way…
