Ka Mānu
The nation of Hawaiʻi and it’s people have been under occupation for over 130 years. Queen Liliʻuokalani was taken from her position as head of state, arrested, and kept under guard. There was no good reason for this other than American greed in the guise of a small group of businessman who betrayed the values of our country.
The sacrifice of the Hawaiian people enabled American forces to win World War II in the Pacific.
Haole businessmen, in all of their greed, don’t understand that Kanaka value their land and sea more than any businessman ever will. No matter how many resorts they build and mansions they erect.
Whether the Āina returns to the Hawaiian people or not, the Clarke family supports the people of Hawaiʻi possessing their land, plotting their course, and living with their own culture.
I wrote this song and others in honor of Queen Keōpūolani, her majesty beyond compare.
