Using this block too with Galax 666W BIOS and external MO-RA3. Deltas over water around 18C at 500W and 26C at 650W, which is very good and it typically sits in low to mid 40s on the core after OC, mid to high 30s after undervolt. Overall quality is nice too. I didn't buy it because of size necessarily, this is just what I had available, but still the difference vs air is quite comical due to how small those PCBs really are.
This is awesome! As someone who finds super large cards to be unsightly, this seems like the perfect solution to make the card smaller. I like all my parts to be centered over the motherboard, instead of having this giant long stick poking over the edge of it.
The real insanity is how thin it is. The thumbnail didn't show that off. Maybe change it to holding both GPUs to show the thickness difference? It really surprised me
Cool to see waterblock makers put input/output connectors at the end instead of the side of these big fat cards. Could only find waterblocks with input/output on the side before. Phantek also makes waterblocks with the input/output at the end of the block.
Absolutely! It's insane! I'm running 4k144 at ultra settings and can barely hear the gpu. Apart from size constraints, there's no point in changing the stock cooler.
Can't wait for the main build water-cooling video. As always thanks for the great video, clear explanations and just for being my favorite RUclipsr for PC builds :D
I didn't realize the PCB only takes up half the length of the card. Those coolers are deliberately overbuilt to convince people that the $1600 card is "worth it" cuz I mean... _"it's huge!"_
Any chance you could update the shopping list to include power supply, watercooling supplies, etc.? Would greatly appreciate seeing those in the description!
Hopefully they make one for the 4080 as well in this carbon layout. If not I wonder if this WB would fit on the 4080 since the reference pcbs are the same size as the 4090’s. 🤔
Are you going to tear apart your FE too, or just swap it out for the one you already did on the test bench? I'm very curious to compare. I'm running an nh-d15 on my 13900k since air cooling makes more sense for my constant heavy workloads, but I'm pretty sure the cramped space between the cpu fan and 4090 FE reduces cooling. As I type this though I'm realizing the water block probably only reduces thickness such that there is more room below the gpu, not above it in the direction of the cpu.
@@bradhaines3142 Shorter doesn't gain me anything significant. The issue is how close the card sits to the cpu cooler. Again though I realized the water cooled gpu won't improve that.
Excited one what youy're gonna do with this Ali (in terms of undervolt/overclock). Those temps are looking real good. I can only imagine what it'd be like under 400w load.
Is there solutions of 4080 4090 already with installed waterblock for custom loop? Dont like idea to buy expensive card and expensive waterblock and then just have non used original aircooler
It really is useless to watercool these 4090's... It wouldn't do to much tbh. My Gygabyte Gaming OC runs 30c idle, and 50-65c while gaming. (OC-d to 3.1ghz, and plus 1600 on the Memory, stable). The only real benefit is that it looks cooler. Great video!

At some point, it will come with water cooling by default, because it will be cheaper and viable than those increasingly big radiators.
Why haven't you used contact cpu frames at all?
I’ve always wondered why modern cards haven’t turned to this on their own for space savings and performance. These new cards are getting ridiculous
