Great video Dave. Thanks for showing more antenna ideas great for new comer's and seasoned operators.

Dave, wish you had talked a bit about phasing in the colinear antenna. Like how the antennas from Diamond, Comet etc achieve match in a straight line antenna. When there's no stub in between the elements..

That is a good idea, but a very complex concept to explain well! :) But I would like to see it! :)

Geometry class: Between any 2 points is an infinite number of collinear points (points on the same line), all part of the same line. All made possible because points are an exact location without dimension, so that a new point can always be placed between any two points on the same line.

The first time I realized that that antenna was a j-pole matched, end fed antenna, I was very surprised and happy, because my understanding of antennas had improved! :)

Join the club, every time I order something from MFJ, I need to fix it out of the box. I stopped using them.

i always thought of collinear as collinear dipole arrays of something, this one looks odd, like bc of the y/2 i thought impedance will go to infinity or something at the feed points

I grew up listening to a Helicrafter receiver identical to the one on your top shelf on your right. And the Yeasu FT-101? above you head, is it an operable 101?.
Great video as always, ive been watching your videos while taking practice quizes for my tec license, the tec is fairly easy, the General is a bit more confusing, but ill figure it out.
    Thanks for reading!
