Just a FYI, Derwent inktense are not water soluble dried inks. They are just like any other watercolor pencils made with pigments, but with a unique binder. Derwent's site has all this info to check k out on this, just incase you don't believe me. But they are just watercolor pencils with a different binder to make them " ink like " and to have a " ink consistency ". The specific question that is asked " are these pencils made of ink " on Derwents FAQ section,The answer is no. However the Caran D'ache Museum Aquarelle are also unique, and aren't like every other watercolor pencil either. They are actually allowed to be used in Pure watercolor competitions, they were created more like a traditional watercolor in pencil form. They have a Binder like actual watercolors, the info is also available on their site. I hope you have a wonderful day

Wow thanks for sharing the info Deejay! I was just going with what I experienced and watched from some videos on these products. Glad you cleared things up. :) You look absolutely dashing, may I say.

@@SoYeahChrisCrafts I watched your review and I really enjoyed it, you have a nice ,gentle way about you explaining things. I also agree with you and disagree with Deejay, I read a lot about Inktense and they are indeed water-soluble ink pencils, and Caran d’ache museum are watercolor pencils. They work very differently and the price of the Museum is absolutely over the top, I don’t think it’s justified. I have the Luminance pencils, they are also very expensive, but they are also beautiful pencils. I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Caran D’ache Supracolor Soft, those are similar with the Albrecht Durer, still a step up,and the price is more affordable than the Museum, and performance-wise they are similar. I think the reason why the Museum is so expensive,is because the Lightfastness, and to me that’s not so important. I don’t have any of the watercolor or water-soluble pencils, but if I decide to get I will probably get the Inktense or the Supracolor, only because both of them are more vibrant than the Faber Castel. Thank you 😊

That dosnt makes sense if derwent is water color way cant it be in Competitions

@supme7558 Some competitions do ALLOW it. It all depends on the contest you enter. Also, this information can be found DIRECTLY from the derwents site. Read the Q&A section for themselves, and Derwent answers exactly as I said here. It's not dried ink.

Thanks for this comparison. I have Caran d’Ache Museum Aquarelle and wondered how much different Derwent Inktense are. It’s great to see the head to head demo.

I prefer Faber Castell and have extensively compared them to CD. No lines left after dissolving and they are less expensive

This video has been so helpful. I really appreciate your doing this. I was wondering how they would do on hot press paper
