i just started making one of these things from your instructionals, i didnt realize how LOUD it would be hah. This video captures a bit of it. You make the clean soldering look easy. I'd be interested in seeing more about your method for curves, and theory for design.
Nice layout and great track design Also incredible soldering skills I recommend making the loop larger and reducing the centripetal force to the point it is just enough for the marble to not fall off. (Closer the net inertia relative to the ball is zero, better it is) More centripetal force causes more reaction force from the track, which greatly increases the friction and also cause the marble lose more energy by shaking the track more, thus, dropping the efficiency. On larger layouts with more drawn out elements, I also recommend clothoid loops over circular ones so that you can have more acceleration at the top where you need to keep the marble on the track, and less acceleration thus less friction at the entarance and exit of the inversion. You'll be amazed how easy is it to get enough force to keep the marble on the track as both magnus effect and centripetal inertia helps it and marbles are really efficient as long as they don't slip or change direction (changing direction laterally causes them to waste quite a lot of energy since they have some angular momentum forcing them to roll the previous direction even after the reaction force has defeated the inertia due to mass, again causing increased friction, keep that in mind as this caused me a lot of pain when building quercetti skyrail marble runs xD) Hope we'll see more of your creations :)

The amount of perfection and patience you have I’m astonished. Wished I had that kind of patience I would actually give it a try myself Also really new to your channel not sure if you made a video yet I was wondering if you can modify a plant pot to have a marble set but it activates when using water using gravity. Not sure if the project would be hard but any plant should be suitable for that pot plz try it on a small, medium and a large pot (Probably for a small tree. I think that would be cool also with some waterproofing so I can withstand the forces of nature.

Superb! love it, would definately like to try and make something like this. How do you choose a motor that turns at the correct speed ? would really appreciate advice on this. Would hate to see the balls being launched and flying at a high rate of knots! Thanks for sharing, well done to you! Regards, Tony (UK).
awesome!! build ! In your part list your reduce "gear motor" is not listed. did you order from Amazon like the rest of material . Thank again for the great video.
How long did it take you to build? I dream of doing this kind of thing one day. Perhaps I should try to follow that one basic video you made that i've watched 20 times. What I would really love is to build something for outdoors that works with golf balls and some user interaction. How long would such a thing last?
Hi Daniel, I tried to build this with galvanized steel wire but the solder just won't stick to the wires.. what flux should I use? I'm in USA, so pls suggest something that I can find at stores here.
@@danielbruin Ok, you have no idea how much this video blew my mind... i never use the flux before... i aways used the flux-core-wire and tought that was enought... I just spent 2 or 3 hours soldering wires... made a track section and a random tower (just to pratice) I will try now to make a full marble tracke (following this video) The technique to make the wires straight was something i would never tought... and it works so well!! You made me unlock an entire new skill tree, amazing!!

Hi, outstanding idea and great realization! Do you use role material or straight steel rod? I just wonder how you get the wire so straight and without waves 😄 I'd really appreciate your answer 👍
@@danielbruin another question: Whta's the width of your tracks? I know you use 12 mm steel marbles (already ordered). Is there a mathematic rule especially for stability in curves at higher marble speed? Or just learning by doing?
@@brombeertoni7264 its just trial and error for me all the time. If necessary in the corners you just curve the track a bit up like a rollercoaster. The total width of the track is about the same as the ball.
I don't think you'll see this, but maybe someone else will. I would be so grateful if you would link or just type the product manufacturer and model of the sliding layout scale you used at 0:05.
