- This video is for people who in #warzone2 are having an issue where your cpu is being used more than your gpu. For someone who likes to stream and play call of duty, you want to free up more of your cpu. Hopefully this helps you fix that issue! I’ve spent a long time trying to improve fps on Warzone 2 and in the process I’ve helped and hurt my pc in different ways so I hope this works for you!

First and foremost, do not set it to 5 because someone says so. That is what works best for this particular person and EVEN if you have the same processor or a different processor with the same amount of c/t it is highly recommended to test it out yourself. As with everything PC it is majorly variable for each user.
For those not educated in terms of how the game utilizes your CPU, rendererworkercount doesn't tell the game to use a specific amount of cores, mw2 will use whatever is available and your task manager can tell you that.
I'm running a Ryzen 9 5900x (12c/24t) and setting mine to 12, 6 or 8 has no difference on CPU usage, performance, temperature or clockspeed whatsoever, meanwhile my good friend with the same CPU gains about 6% performance by having it set to 12.
What we DO know is that you should not go past your available cores, so in my case i would not set it past 12, start at the top and go down until you see a difference.
If you have a newer Intel processor you can look it up on Intels spec and it will tell you a "number of performance cores".
The i9 13900k for instance has 24 cores and 32 threads and intel claims it has 8 performance cores, if you set it to 8 people have claimed they received performance gains.
Test it for yourself, always.
One say change it to 8 , other say change it 6, now change it back to 5.
I have been changing settings for over a week now and trying to find the very best way. It seems at the moment I get my best results when I set it to 5 (8 core cpu)
Seriously lol when i had a 9700K i had to change it to 4 but now with a 12700K i turn off E cores for gaming and i set it to either 7 or 8 i cant tell a difference in still getting a 99% GPU bottleneck no matter what with a 2080Ti at 1440p i think im going to try 6 today I haven’t gone that low but I’m not going to 5 that’s ridiculous for 16 threads unless you’re running 10 intensive apps in the background and i never have anything besides process lasso and afterburner running
@@connradd 8 core but you got 16 threads or? Because hyperthreading or lack-there-of, has a HUGE impact on what this number should be
@@-BUGZ-I’ve never used hyper threading. I overclock my cpu and that’s it. But anyways ya I have 8 cores and 16 threads and I ran the benchmark yesterday on every number of cores and 5 gave the best performance. 25% cpu and 75% gpu was the best I could do

went from 60 fps with a lot of stuttering to 140 fps with a stable experience on the 6650xt and ryzen 5600.
the game was using 2 cores only!! all i had to do was make it 6 and that’s it.
Do keep in mind that on quad cores or six-core cpus using all cores will improve performance.I have a i3 12100f and only 2 of its cores were in use. Sure it was quiet and the usage wass about 45%-60% but the fps wouldn't go over 75 no matter if I played on the lowest settings. Enabling all 4 of my cpu cores improved my performance alot,I am consistantly over 80 and reaching over 110 sometimes In the desert areas.But the tmeps are higher and usage is at like 85% at all times

@@NestorBailonDraxiz1212 Are you sure your GPU is clocking as high as it can go? I found out that the GeForce Experience was downclocking my GPU somehow. After I corrected the settings I was able to get much better performance.
@@iseeu-fp9po i dont know how to clocking im so new into gaming pc did you have to uninstall geforce to able to over clocking the gpu cause u put everything as high but i stll have geforce install
@@NestorBailonDraxiz1212 Well, first you need to know what kind of GPU (graphics card) you have. From AMD, Intel or Nvidia? Each company provides relevant software for that.

Thank you. Confirmed it works on MW3. CPU Went from 88 celcius to 51 celcius. My CPU has 8 cores, but changed from 7 to 6 on RendererWorkerCount:0.0 = "6". Found the benchmark option for MW3 located on PRIVATE MATCH - BENCHMARK.

I was kind of having the opposite issue. For some reason Warzone 2.0 wouldn't use more than 60-70 CPU and GPU at any time (GPU 2080s, CPU i7-7700K)I opened the file you suggested, and saw that my thread count was set to 2 (7700k has 8 threads). I upped it to 8, and saw that my CPU started hovering around 80-90% use in game after that. My FPS was slightly improved, and my 1% lows improved quite a bit. So less stuttering.

@@NestorBailonDraxiz1212 because that's not how it work, that value change nothing, it's just a fuckin myth. If u want yr pc to use more GPU, you will need to change graphics setting in the fuckin game.
Should be set to your physical cores or 1 less if you have a lot. So 4 on the 7700k.
You’re really supposed to use half your thread count. Even if you don’t have hypertheading. You should be using 4 or 5 for stability but i guess if it’s working then don’t change it but I definitely suggest using 4 or 5.
@@MrDutch1e All you have to do is literally set it to about half of your thread count, that’s what the he should have said in the video but i tried telling people he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I have a 12700K with the e cores turned off so i have 8c/16t and have mine set at 7 for all cod games.
On my 6 core ryzen 3600 option '5' gives me best results, + 10 fps. On other options its worse

Warzone 1 that worked....for reasons. In warzone 2, it does not work. I have tested every possible setting across 4 pc's, (4 different cpus, 4 different GPUs) and setting it to 2 lower than your CPU THREAD count, not core count produces the best results.
The rule of thumb is to test all values yourself. If you only utilize half your cores with a 6-core for example you'll have a terrible time. I'm actually getting the best results with a 6-core using 7. If I put in 3 I lose about 30% of my performance.

Amazing fix !!! I have laptop RTX4080 175w and i913900HX. At 2560x1600 at Ultra (DLSS on Quality) it was giving me like 105-110 FPS and crappy GPU and CPU utilization-like 40-50 %. Setting RendererWorkerCount:0.0 = "8" // -1 to 16 (from 16 to 8 ) increase performance like 40-45%. Amazing !!! Now I get 150 FPS at Ultra 2560x1600 (and DLSS on Quality )

For those confused or want better performance, basically
If you CPU is above 75%, decrease the number of thread by half of your CPU cores, no this is not a myth, it all really depends on your system, if even at 50% CPU utilisation, go even lower on the thread count, the GPU will automatically get help from the CPU if needed, nothing manual needed - I have an
Intel i5 - 4590, and an AMD Radeon RX 550 GDDR5 4GB, and I roughly got 110 FPS with 1% lows being at 89, but as soon as I custom capped it at 100 FPS, it was really stable and actually playable, at low - medium settings.

@@pcustaad the i5 is 100% slowing you down, but 40/50fps on warzone is not expected, i assume its amount of ram you have.
I have a strix 4090 with a Ryzen 9 7900X3D 12core and my cpu was 99% with GPU 1%.
I switched from 12 core down to 11 and my GPU utilization bumped up to 25%. I tried everything from 6,7,8,9,10 and 11 and 11 was the best for GPU performance.
I also changed my wz2 graphic settings

I haven't been able to get more than 90 frames on my beast of a computer on all low settings. Really hoping this works. Will report back. Just changed my setting from "12" to "6".

@@connradd I am running an RX 6600 (non XT) i5 12400f and my CPU bottleneck is 86% and my GPU bottleneck is 14%. How can I fix this? I have tested whats shown in this video and it hasn't helped. I am using 5 cores in the files with my CPU having 6 maximum cores available. My PC should be more than capable of running this game as it is also brand-new.

i think the thing is you need to put the number of threads of cpu and not your cores.
so start with 12 and go down gradually while benchmarking every time you go down a number
i have a 5600 and it was using 2 threads only. i made it 6 and the fps went from 60 to 144fps
its soo funny to get 100fps at MAX settings and then 100 fps at the LOWEST settings so fucking low my game looked worse than roblox videos in 2013. nice game I will give it a sweet old shit/10
im running on a 3070ti, 16gbs of corsair ram, and a intel i710700k im comepletley stuck at 100 fps some times it goes a bit higher but on avg it goes to 80fps and idk how to fixc it i was playing with some one on a 260super and they were getting 130fps so i dont rly know what i can do to fix this
This actually worked for mine my cpu was bottlenecked 99% with no upscaling and I was averaging 181 fps and I changed my cores to 5 from 8 and it actually gave me a boost I’m averaging 224 fps now

both my cpu and gpu are using about 40% power and my game is running at 60fps max during gameplay even though in video benchmarks by ZwormZ for example the gpu is used 100% and his cpu is about 60% and FPS is about 160
He made videos on this game back when it first came out and in the Beta, which around those times had insanely better performance so the fps you are getting now is normal which sucks unless you have found a fix.

if you have problem low usage GPU / CPU. press windows + R, and just write %temp%, and delete all file in temp. work for me

My thread count was set to 15 and I had 98% CPU usage and 2% GPU usage!! Lmao. I changed it to 8 and I'm still at 88% CPU usage, do I need to make the thread count even lower?!

Was it overheating? For some reason my temp goes to 90 and more. I saw in some places I need to turn off in game monitoring of gpu fps etc.
No actually my gpu doesn’t get higher than 75ish and I actually want it to get hotter for performance purposes. I’ve been reading 83-85 degrees is still safe. Even boosting the temp on MSI Afterburner doesn’t get Call of Duty to reach that temp
@@connradd my CPU was overheating, not GPU. Would skyrocket on any settings.
@MikeOfBosnia Sounds like your CPU isn't getting enough cooling from the fan or liquid. Could also try reapplying thermal paste, might make a drastic improvement if it's all crusty and dry.
If you've upped your CPU voltage too much, that could be the issue as well.

I have a 3070 ti I just updated to that & I updated my processor my work count was 4 but I have 8 cores should I up it? Ion think it updated when I installed the new processor
To be honest with you, run the benchmark on each number of cores (1-8) I found that 5 cores currently works best
When it comes to the CPU numbers bottleneck =/= usage. Optimally you'd want 99% GPU bottleneck which does translate close to 99% GPU usage meaning your CPU is fast enough to fully utilize your GPU.
I have a Ryzen 5600X (6c/12t) and I get the best CPU fps numbers with 7, surprisingly, so I'm actually using more than my physical cores. It has also changed between updates. After launch 6 was best and a little later 8 but now 7 gives the best results by a decent margin of over 5%.

I am using 12th Gen Intel (R)Core(TM)i7-1200K, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070Ti, Latest Drivers (for pc & graphic card), My CPU (bottleneck is 1%), and GPU (Bottleneck is 99%) can you let me know if this is bad or good? the Thread is "11", I change it to "10", "8", "9" and left it at "12" and gave me the same CPU/GPU percentage 1% and 99%. I really do not understand this bottleneck stuff if you can just let me know if you do understand? The Game has great performance and FPS ingame between 175/202.

@@romulusgaming1627 1% CPU bottleneck/ 99% GPU bottleneck is the optimal result because it means your CPU is fast enough to fully utilize your GPU meaning no performance is left on the table. If you're happy with your framerate then all is good.

call of duty is a cpu intensive game and msi mb game boost feature also helped me for get rid of that game's stuttering and running smoothly but it would be more beneficial if i upgrade my ram to 3000+mhz.

I’m running a new build. 5600x paired with an RX6750XT. I noticed my GPU use age is usually 98-99% but my CPU is at like 4% during the game. I get around 120FPS average on 1440P balanced setting with no FSR. Why is my CPU use so low? Should it not be doing more?

@bangermanger i got my pc optimized 2 weeks ago and they fixed the issue bro. Running around 210-240 frames in big map BR and around 220-260 on ashika GPU is at 99 percent
@bangermanger they went into BIOS and messed with the ram speed,CPU and then went into MSI afterburner and overclocked my 4090 to what it’s supposed to be overclocked to. I haven’t had any issues whatsoever, my game would crash so much but they fixed that as well too lol

I’d say just run the benchmark using 1-4 cores and see which yields the best results

I can confirm cuz I have a i7-9700k and setting it to 5 gives me 3% cpu and 97% GPU and I’m 1080p and setting it higher to 8 gives me shit performance and going lower to 5 or 4 gives me really good performance

Was yours set stock to "8". I have a 3060ti and a 12600K and the default value was 8. I changed it 5 and didn't notice any different but that may be because I upped a bunch of different changes in the game

If you have like intel cpu an 8 core, you should make it 8, if you have AMD you should use only half of your cores, but the 4 is minimum, so even if you have 6 core like I have, I don´t go 3, I go 4

i have ryzen 5 6600h 16gb ram and rtx 3050 ti before of seson 3 perfomance was really good but now just in this game my cpu is not running at full speed it stay at 3900 but it should be 4500 because in other games it stay at 4500 all the time but in cod it's just 3900 gpu is at 50% usage and cpu at 40-70% and the fps is like 40 to 60, but before i had not below of 90 :(

It should always be set to roughly half of whatever your cores are, I thought that was common knowledge amongst the “best settings” community.

Hello. I have an i5 6500 with 4 cores. To what number do i set mine please? I tried from 2 to 4, and from 4 to 5. GPU usage remains below 10% and CPU well between 95 to 100%. Most of the time at 100%. And i still run at 20 to 45fps

I have 3070ti .. and its only perform 100-120 fps watever the resoulution is ... if I select low settings it perform 100-120 fps with 30-40% usage .. if i select mid setting it perform 100-120 fps with 50-60% .. and so on ... when I change settings the usage change instead of fps .... anyone can help me? It's mostly likely your CPU not being strong to calculate enough frames for you GPU, what CPU do you have?, For a 3070ti a great CPU with almost 0 bottleneck would be a Ryzen 5 5600x or a i5 11700k or above

guys try use 32g ram i think this game after season 3 need 32g ram i have 16g ram and get 60 fps with 3060 13400 i try to enable xmp and my fps on 100. users with 32g ram have no problem

upgrading, you cant fix a setting that will change it. Bottlenecking is just saying that one is better than the other by this much
I get lower fps in warzone2 when I use 5 or below and 6 gives best overall fps avg for my r5-5600x pair with rtx 3070
My 5600x stays ar 5-6% max usage... It cant be bottlenecked bcz my gpu is better...
@@TomySTS 5-6%? thats imposible, probably ur using old version of MSI afterburner and **USING Windows 11**, that one glitch you cpu percentaje, i had the same problem, then updated to a new version and now my cpu usage is normal on MSI.
