I've always thought that Damien and his group are a mix between Jeff Buckley (heartbreaking and powerful lyrics, songs' structure, vocals, sophisticated metaphors) and the modern british folk music scene like Seth Lakeman's first albums (for instrumentation and atmosphere - if you do not know Lakeman check it out, terribly underrated!)

I think it was a mixture of guilt for playing a part in setting in motion those final choices, and the finality of death that meant we’d never get to clear the air and say all of the things that go unsaid in a split. It’ll be 15 years this summer, and my life has gone on and I am incredibly fortunate... but this song puts me right back in the seat of my Tahoe with her just before having dinner that last time.

They were a perfect partnership. I saw Rice last night and he was brilliant, but I still wish Lisa had been on stage with him too.
They were magic together. I saw him in LA in an old church venue. The whole show was incredible but I missed her .
