Anger can be focused and pulled together as a passion to resolve in getting things done. Anger is the opposite of quitting and can PUSH us to work towards completion.
He does bang that anger drum a little too much don’t he? He’s right though, I’ve heard anger being called ‘a redundant emotion’, which it is, at least redundant as an emotion. But it can, & does, energise & invigorate & can be used proactively, as catalyst for action/change. Unless, however, that anger stems from anger at oneself, or is is directed at oneself - is internalised - therefore becoming a wholly negative & destructive poison. Love how Lydon’s presence seems to offend Abbot & Portillo’s middle-class, metropolitan, Islington sensibilities too. She’s f**kin seething 😤
I think Portillo would get on with him just great to be fair. He was laughing most of the time... Lydon can be a bit overpowering but I think they'd agree on a lot. Abbot on the other hand... no.
If I could use a quote of Lydon which most accurately tells who Lydon is, I would use the one with which he opens the "Beware of Mr. Baker" documentary. That quote just fits Lydon himself so perfectly.

If I didn't "know" butte, er sorry better, I'd swear that was a Malcolm McLaren line every bit as much as: "I'm a rock 'n' roll puppet in a band named Bow Wow Wow".
John's had a wee snifter before the interview. He's a wind up merchant, but catch him on a sober thoughtful moment and if I was on a sinking ship, I'd rather be with John than any of the other three. I had a childhood illness and I think what John is trying to say is that such things do have an effect on the remaining years. I remember misery being almost promoted in order to make me work hard at getting better to get home. I was made or felt I was made to feel very homesick and very angry to fight back against a disability that I did get the better of. I think john is trying to explain the same. But with a can of special brew in the dressing room he has lost his delivery. I do get his point. He's talking of turning the negative energy into something that willed him to get better. I think. I never made it to the free trade hall in Manchester I was one of the few young punk musicians that doesn't actually claim to have been there. I envy that! Ooh it makes me so angry...mum and dead wouldn't let me see a sex pistol ....if I had...wow..... Good on you John and thank god for farmers wives

Lol. 5 years later, anger is well and truly here.
And a year on we are even more angry
Diane Abbot was the first black, female MP. For this she should be admired.
Unfortunately, she is also Diane Abbot.
Damn john is a legend he actually IS bang on the money!!
Abbott looking down her nose. How dare she? Her of all people.
He's like a naughty school child
Wait I’m confused, the phrase is “energy is an anger” correct?
His parents completely misheard the Sri Lankan doctor at the hospital, who didn’t want him eating anything before taking his medication.
He had actually said “ keep him hungry “
Brilliant 🍺
Abbot is out of her league, incidentally why does she ( if she is a she ) straighten her hair .
It's a wig.
It's a White Woman's Wig !!! 😂😁😂😂😂
Abbott would be out of her league on an episode of the tellytubbies!!!
Mr. Lydon, you should run for President in the U.S.A!!!!!
Leslie Schmidt I agree, I would vote for him!
I see you've made a couple of typos there, Leslie. But's it's okay, I know you really meant "Mr Lydon, you should run over the President of the USA!!!
Oh, and you forget to mention the last bit about the very large bus......
Johnny bad ass rotten.. We love you man.. Keep rattling cages 🤟✊🤟✊🤟
John Lydon is a national treasure....end of.
Lines of poetry in pop songs are few and far between, but Lydon penned one:-
'Don't know what I want but I know how to get it.' From Anarchist.
If I didn't "know" butte, er sorry better, I'd swear that was a Malcolm McLaren line every bit as much as: "I'm a rock 'n' roll puppet in a band named Bow Wow Wow".
Neil looks like Hugh Cornwall! Great video
