Asche zu Asche es un sencillo del grupo de Metal industrial alemán Rammstein extraído del disco Herzeleid (1995). Contiene también cinco temas interpretados en directo incluidos en su álbum de 1999 Live aus Berlin. Sólo fue comercializado en Australia, como parte de la promoción de la edición de 2001 del festival Big Day Out, en la que participaba la banda germana. En la portada se distingue el micrófono de Paul Landers en llamas. En las interpretaciones en vivo de la canción los micrófonos de los guitarristas empiezan a arder.
Asche zu Asche is a single by the German industrial metal band Rammstein taken from the album Herzeleid ( 1995 ). It also contains five songs performed live included on his 1999 album Live aus Berlin . It was only marketed in Australia , as part of the promotion of the 2001 edition of the Big Day Out festival , in which the German band participated. On the cover you can see the Paul Landers microphone on fire. In the live performances of the song the guitarists' microphones start to burn.

Yes this was the Family Values Tour that served as the "Follow the Leader" tour.
Yes, this is also pre-treadmil.
The mics were insulated with foil and some other heat repellant. Plus I got to see them do this song from less than 10 feet away, it also had a water mister so their faces wouldn't melt off as they sing into the burning mics. They didn't replace them afterwards and still had a couple of songs with backing vocals.
Their hair was also slicked with fire retardant, giving it that whitish look

Gotta love Flake in shorty shorts! The flame retardant in their hair is Desitin, the baby diaper rash cream. Not kidding!
The last time that I saw the microphones on fire it was in the “Live in Paris” DVD, that came out in 2017, but the concert was in 2012. You can see it in Amazon Prime Video.
As Wes Borland of the band Limp Bizkit said in the documentary "Rammstein in Amerika" - Their music is heavy, almost sounds militaristic as if a squadron of military musicians came on stage. And all this he said while asche zu asche was playing in the background - it was strong!
I think its also funny that you don't notices that when they play in Paris that in France nobody speaks german. The 2 languages are totally different. Not even close. Haha but the public sings along every teks that's absurd. Haha greets jacco

this was at the times that rammstein didnt even use a double bass drum. the sound is so diffrent compare to now days.

I always like seeing people's first time reactions to their live performances. A lot of concerts do have some pyrotechnics effects, but most arent are as dramatic as Rammsteins
Yes, it was the same tour with Korn etc Travis. And yes it pre-dates Flake's treadmill by a lot of years Suzy. I think they only used the flaming mic stands on this song (Ashes to Ashes).
This comes from their very first album Herzeleid (Heartache) when they first started out hence the lighter almost electronica disco sound. They followed up with Sehnsucht with a heavier but still electronic sound from Flake on keyboards, the rest they say is history.
Being a rammstein fan fo a long time one thing I've always known. Rammstein never has to try to "hit it out of the park" they just do it without thinking

finally!! I definitively recommend checking out other live performances than Paris, It's great and all but honestly there's a lot of other better live performances, specially from Sehnsuch to LIFAD era. Don't get me wrong, they still got it, but you can't deny there was a different energy when they were younger. And I HATE Akerlund's speed shots
