Thanks so much for this tip. My 2009 T & C with 172,000 miles has done this for years and I've taken it to multiple dealerships and they can't seem to figure it out. Unfortunately I let one talk me into a replacement starter which was a waste of $675. I have never been stranded though - what usually happens is I turn the key anywhere from 2 to 30 times and then it finally starts. I will suggest this the next time I take it in but not sure if I want to put that much money into this vehicle!
Check the battery. Had the exact same problem. Everything in the van worked, sliding doors, radio, dash etc. Push the start button and nothing. Put a multimeter on the battery and it only had 8 volts. Enough to power everything but not enough to turn the starter. New battery and all is good now

Well it went out on me early may . Everything worked like this video but not start up so replace the key fob battery and put a new battery and paid for a new starter bc they said that was the problem almost 900 dollar later with a tow truck i got it back. Like 2 weeks later again the check engine was fine for a few days n then did the same. They said it was a wireless connector to starter why didn't you not replace that a few weeks ago. Pay a tow n labor for a 25 dollar wire . Just got it back Friday June 3 and guess what engine light on Saturday i am scared to drive it not sure where it would leave me. What could be the problem anyone
It is incredibly frustrating! Hang in there. I responded to your other comment also but ultimately it was the tipm which is a known failure for Chrysler. They should have recalled it imo.
you need to chek if your fuel pomp is working if not go to your fuse box and bypass the fuse of the fuel pomp with the fuse on the cigarr ligter this help to put charge on the fuel pomp wen you turn the key and off wen take the key out and will not drain your batery it is some videos in you tube that will help you with it. is very simple

I'm almost done putting the new starter in.. ill keep updates....
Also checked fuses and wires. The battery is good, replaced key battery, cleaned out throttle body..will see if anything changes
I will never buy a Jeep, Chrysler vehicle ever again I was warned about buying that jeep cherokee.. worse car I've ever owned is at about 125,000. Miles now.
Thanks for the info. Hope it works out OK. I am with you on the Chrysler products though. I'm done with them also.
Just install a new neutral line to the starter directly
Did anyone ever figure the problem out I'm having the same problem with my 2016 town and country

Where is the inercia pump located reset for 2011 town n country
I woke up this morning the Same problem anyone find out problem Please Help Thanks🤦♀️
Sorry to hear that. Mine was the TIPM (totally integrated power module) unfortunately. Towed it to the dealer and they fixed it but it wasn't cheap.
@@MSMAdventures my Chrysler van is 2012 about how much did you pay an Thank you so much for input
I'm sure I paid top dollar at the dealership but I think it was around $1200 if I remember correctly. I've heard of people paying more but I've also heard a lot less as well. Good luck!
@@MSMAdventures how much did it cost
Having the same issues too it wants to turn over but won’t changed the spark plugs still won’t start I can hear the fuel pump turning on but still won’t start anyone have any ideas???
I had to take it to the dealer unfortunately and they replaced a module when mine was cranking but wouldn't start. I can't remember what the part was so hopefully someone else can chime in here.
Crap looks like going to be expensive if I take it to the dealership getting it towed there them to look at it I think it is the TIPM been having issues with that if only knew I would be having so much issues with the electrical I WOULD NOT have purchased it!!!!!
@@MSMAdventures probably the WIN module.
Hi did anyone figure it out i have a 2014 and at times since a year in March. It wouldn't start like we would get that lightning bolt so we had to wait or try anything.
Sorry you having so much trouble. These things are plagued with issues.
Bad batt right?
No unfortunatly it was the TIPM :(
@@MSMAdventures Thanks for the reply, Mine was battery thankfully.
What was it? Mine is now doing same thing
It is incredibly frustrating! Hang in there. I responded to your other comment also but ultimately it was the tipm which is a known failure for Chrysler. They should have recalled it imo.
MSM Adventures mine is at dealer so I should know something by Tuesday, I’ll send message and let ya know if it was same thing
Robert Johnson mine is doing it to
Yep. Only real issue I can find with the town and countrys (and the duranos/ grand cherokees) is the TIPM... at least it seems easy to DIY fix
It's frustrating that this known issue is not being resolved by Chrysler.
We have a 2013 and it will turn over but won't start
Ugh sorry you are having issues also. The list goes on...
you need to chek if your fuel pomp is working if not go to your fuse box and bypass the fuse of the fuel pomp with the fuse on the cigarr ligter this help to put charge on the fuel pomp wen you turn the key and off wen take the key out
and will not drain your batery
it is some videos in you tube that will help you with it. is very simple
Need help!
