Tony, you were puffing and panting carrying those John Innes and straw, why didn't you use your wheelbarrow 😮😂😂❤
It's a proper pants spring this year. It's been wet, windy and cold. I'm tired of grey skies and the cold
You're so far ahead up there! That poly tunnel is incredible. I've still got Tom's and cucs in 7cm pots barely growing and I'm in South East!
My corn has been out for a month, and is doing well and putting cobs on 😃
I love seeing you Tony but I love seeing Daisy more 😚😍😍
i think your carrot seeds weren’t carrot at all.
6 degrees in Nottingham over night here too. Fingers crossed my plants ok up allotment. 😂
Hi Tony, I use chopped rape straw to mulch my pots & a few raised beds too. Daisy is gorgeous ❤ I have very poor germination on sweetpeas & sweetcorn, which never happened to me ever. Had to resort to buy8mg sweetcorn plug plants! N8ce video update, thanks for sharing and take care 😊
I bought Lemon Drop chilies and Ananas chilies seeds from gardeners not from companies because where I live I can buy those seeds. I sowed them in February. Some are 3 cm high, only teeny weeny. I don't know if anything will be in this year with Chillies. I don't know if we will have a hot summer at all.
ive had to plant my carrots at least 3 times, birds ( i think) kept taking every last speck, some were about 3-4 inches as well, fuming!
Seriously wondering if those "carrot" seeds weren't actually chickweed seeds LOL. I don't see that springing up anywhere else. hmmmm.....
Had to remove straw because the seed was growing through my crops, so its a toss up between straw seed/weed or true weeds, now I just use grass clippings. It also keeps the cats off I've found.
I bought heat treated chopped rapeseed straw from a local equestrian centre. £11 for a huge bale
Tony your compost didn’t get hot enough to kill of the chickweed seeds. When you sifted that supper fine you made the perfect bed for it. And boy did it show! The greatest bed of chickweed I’ve ever seen. It makes a tasty salad or soup. You might try that next time.
🐝thanks for the great video🌻
like a kid at christmas... oh look at this OH look at this OH LOOK at this OH LOOK AT this OHLOOK AT THIS DID YOU SEE THIS!! haha this tome of year is great but can be very overwhelming when everything just seems to POP up
Tony, you are my new RUclips obsession..lol ..love your videos ❤️from 🇨🇦
I’m like the green eyed monster looking at your polytunnel, it’s on 🔥 ! I have one chilli grow after watching you and JB and they are by far my best plants, everything else planted in the ground is just not the same. And your aubergines 😍. Slugs have had all my carrots, I’ve seen them germinate then disappear, hopefully more success in pots.
Chickweed... get a weed torch and burn the plants, roots and seeds , the bloody lot in the bed.
another great video tony. toms and chilli's are doing amazing hope mine turn out as good
It'll be interesting to see how the straw works with respect to slugs. One school of thought is that slugs won't like walking across it, however I've also seen a lot of people say that the damp conditions underneath the straw layer are an absolutely perfect habitat for slugs... keep us posted on the slug situation in that bed Tony...
I'm trying the carrot tape this year as well as the seeds. Got loads of black flower containers from Morrisons, free, so trying carrots 🥕 and parsnips in them.❤
Few cold nights coming up. I'm not putting my corn out for at least a week.
Haha my sweetcorn situation is similar! The bought are much larger and I had terrible germination with mine but i got 4 out of 20 😅😅
Pleased to have found your channel Tony!
Ps doggy Daisy is so sweet!
You're doing great and looking so well now and it's lovely to see Daisy girl out with you too .🐶 One very happy dawgie ! 🦋What beans are you growing on the tepee Tony ?
Nice watering can technique Tony - I take it you lost the rose for it 🥴. I’m in East central Scotland and the weather is just rubbish. High of 15c today 🥺. My outside toms are hanging on in there. Potatoes are happy enough though. Have a great weekend when it comes. Mags
My sweetcorn has been out for about a week now Tony and are doing fine. At the moment I have Carrots in a 4 ft x 3 ft x 4 ft deep box ( outside ) also in 12" x 4" plastic pipes and also in the black boxes you get from recycle bins ( in the greenhouse ) all are doing great. seeing as we are only about 5-6 miles from each other i dont understand what happened to yours, unless they werent actually carrot seeds but something else. Toms and Chillis are doing great as are the mini cucs. Glad to see you looking a lot more healthy and active now. Those quad grows are doing excellent with the toms, i might treat myself to some 😉
31 degrees here in cyprus, on me jollies
Them pots in the tunnel are great my tomatoes have failed when I moved them outside. Desperate for a Polly tunnel
Be careful storing any unused straw Tony. Last year in the spring I found an unused bag had been used by rats to make a nest in my shed.
Be determined, grow more carrots‼️‼️‼️don’t let the weeds beat you. Those weeds had to have been in whatever soil you used.
Tony, I am growing my carrots in buckets this year and so far they are a success, plenty of growth. However, the ones I sowed in the soil either didn’t germinate or were eaten by slug😡, latter is the probability
Slugs have decimated my carrots overnight, so disappointing.
I'm a bit confused. That lovely healthy looking green bed was chickweed? I'm glad we don't have triffids like that over in Cumbria! Mark you I have no carrots either. The bed got smothered in calendula when I was away.😢
Don't be so hard on yourself Tony, you're clearly an expert at growing Chickweed ! 😉
Your soil might be too rich for carrots. Lots of show gardeners grow them in sand
Tony you garden looks good things are starting to go here enjoy your videos although take also Potty mouth take care
I planted my corn out a couple of days ago Temperature dropped last night and killed them all so its a good job you left yours 😢
I wish you had tried carrots again in that bed Tony tbh.
All looking good mate. The curly leaves on the tomatoes is a good sign. It means the tomatoes are feeding and is nothing to worry about. Thanks for the video pal.
I'm sure those weren't carrots 😂
Tony, you do know sweet potatoes don't grow like normal potatoes? Sweet potatoes grow down from the vine, so the vine needs to be over soil for it to do this.
Anyone else think the quality of bought compost is poor with peat
Without peat I meant 😂
