Mumbai Airport staff is the worst!!! #CSIA authorities and all airlines must look into it. They know you are their mercy and always enforce to check in at least one carry on suitcase. I know CSIA airport has a short runway length for wide body jets and take off weight is critical for the safety - hence Mumbai needs the new Navi Mumbai Airport. Hopefully then things will change. Also I would be intrigued to see if they do the same with citizens of foreign countries.

Yes, coming from Navi Mumbai, I'm genuinely excited about the prospect of the new airport. As you mentioned, let's hope for positive changes. I am sure they prioritize the needs of foreign citizens differently than us.

For the Luggage part of the Lady, CCTV footage of the Check-In Counter would have shown her carry-on and check-in luggage, it would not have taken more than 20 minutes to grab the security footage and 10 minutes to identify and remove hers from the plane. 3 sade 3 ghante bahut ho jaate hain wastage

Absolutely Geeta, with the right coordination and urgency, retrieving CCTV footage and identifying the luggage could indeed be managed swiftly, minimizing any delay. It’s all about efficiency and how well the staff is prepared to handle such situations. Not sure if the airlines has access to CCTV footage from the airport.

I feel for you. However, when Indians travel, why do they have to empty their home into the luggage--try carrying less--now a days, most items are available in India too. For carrying your child, you should have taken a baby pouch/sling/wrap. Third, you could have gone outside to a nearby attraction--not sure if the UAE still offers free transit visa on arrival (for a few hours) to Indians. Food poisoning is an issue when some many people may touch the pots/utensils in the lounge--carry some stomach medicine. Luckily, your baby was the best performer of the family (cute to watch while he held on to his green guava while nearby mom was hittin' hard on some sort of a custard cake) ; hopefully will not catch up to the dad in the complaints dept. and mom in the free food dept. :).

Your suggestions are truly valuable. When traveling, reducing luggage can undoubtedly enhance the journey, and I appreciate your advice on packing lighter. However, returning from India to the USA presents unique circumstances, as certain items boast a quality and flavor that's unparalleled anywhere else in the world. We were quite vigilant about food safety and hygiene throughout our trip, but perhaps we relaxed a bit upon returning, leading to some discomfort.
