It is pretty poorly run league when they force teams to play games during international windows and then do not allow teams to have two goal keepers on their game day roster.
This is incredibly unprofessional of MLS. It’s playing out like a high school level league. The way they’re treating their best team is unacceptable. If this was Inter Miami the league would’ve made an exception.
I agree that the league would have made an exception for MIA or LAFC, but who decided, while knowing the rules, while understanding the number of possible matches they could play, who decided to call up two for a friendly, no-nothing match?
I wonder if MLS should take a page from the NHL and have a non-aligned amateur or semi-pro goalkeeper at each game that can fill in for either team should the need arise?
Columbus knew the rules, chose not to follow them, then complains about the consequences. There were plenty of workarounds to the situation and the fact that a field player had to play goal is entirely of your own making, not MLS's.

Not a red for me. Keeper comes out takes out his own player who takes out the opponent also we had a defender running back that could have made a tackle. Therefore is wasn’t a clear goal scoring opportunity and as the keeper makes contact with his own player it’s not dangerous play against an opponent. Therefore not a red card in my book.
