Ngl these physical copies are one of the most beautiful books I've ever got in my collection, they are just gorgeous. The artist is freakin goated for the amazing artwork.
How have they dealt with the really long scenes because the web version uses multiple pages for one long image. Have they split it into separate pages from top to bottom?
@@TwisTed1803 they ave done it very nicely cutting those long panels into pieces in a very pleasing way fitting for a book style. And some are just flipped over

u peps are expecting too much. a big company like ufotable will never adapt a series that's not big in japan. mappa might do it if an anime streaming site like crunchyroll, netflix, or funimation strikes up a deal with the manwha company that publishes solo leveling, but on their own? no chance.

I can understand if you're used to reading only manga. But do keep in mind that the Korean comics are printed traditionally to read from left to right. So the English publisher did not alter or take away anything from the original physical printing in Korea.
@@vermillion6702 I didn’t notice this reply so you might not need this anymore, but the table of contents says there’s 4 chapters but it actually covers 12 of the original chapters.
I find this a bit perculiar, not in a bad way. This is my first manhwa but I am an avid manga reader and they read opposite to english, back to front. So to see a manhwa flipped is surprising becaus I thought it cost more to flip it. Or do koreans read left to right as well?
How many pages is this print from yen press? 320 pages like they say on their website? Asking cause in other resellers of Yen press they say the book has around 192 pages and thats is weirding me out.
Vol 2 and 3 are not yet published in English. Volume 2 is currently up for preorder on Amazon and Rightstuf with a June release date. Volume 3 will probably be up for preorder after Volume 2 releases.
You can read the first 20 chapters of the Webtoon for free via TappyToon app. They're both extremely different ways of reading the story but you get the same story and experience imo.
@@HackCentralOfficial you can read the prologue all the way to the current chapter (ch. 142) on levelingsolo.com/. It’s free. Just know that it isn’t an official website, so if you want to support the author I guess you have to find a better alternative
This might seem like a stupid question but I love anime and I've never really read any of the mangas, how is this manhwa different from the light novel. Also, how would I go about purchasing all of solo leveling as I plan on reading it all?
So for Solo Leveling, the light novel is complete in Korea I believe. The English translation of the light novels are being released every few months. Right now I think the first 2 volumes are out in physical books, it will be a while before it's complete. The manhwas are getting translated but it's not the best way to collect the series because Korea has only published 4 books. The best way to is to read the Webtoon that is licensed by Tappytoon. (Manhwa is just a term for Korean physical comics. The Webtoon is the digital version and is very far in the story.)
@@SuaveReads brilliant, thanks a lot for your help, I've just purchased the volume 1 on the manhwa from Amazon, if I enjoy it then I will for sure read the Webtoon, then I can collect the rest of the Manhwa volumes as they are released over time
Really weird to see physical manhwa. Many of the affects are probably lost due to turning the pages compared to slowly scrolling and exposing the scene.
Thank you for this review. I thought they are going to use TappyToons translations. This is a bit worrying for me. Looking at how they botched Overlord's light novel translations, eg "Sorcerer's Kingdom" to "Kingdom of Darkness" or "lamprey" to "rabbit", creating unnecessary changes and plot hole. Still, I'm looking forward to the volumes.
Personally the changes don't bother me as much as it could bother others. Different translators have different interpretations. I hope you end up enjoying your book. Thanks for tuning in!
