I’m a Cubs fan, and I think Caratini called a brilliant game. As Darvish’s personal catcher, he has to deal with 70 million different pitches, and he shows he knows how to get hitters to swing at stuff they don’t like. Hats off to Vic, glad to see him getting to catch a no-hitter.
I thought Victor Caratini was the underrated trade piece in the Yu Darvish trade. The same way when the Padres picked up Jake Cronenworth in the trade with the Rays last year.
@@Double2KK yea, he was, just like for my team, the underrated trade piece in the lindor trade was losing carlos Carrasco. That's what really hurt in my opinion. I was more than okay losing lindor, I really wanted cookie to stay though

Yes, Caratini did catch the Alec Mills no-hitter last year, which makes him the catcher of the last two no-hitters, obviously not including the Rodon no-no that just happened a couple of days ago.
It is fascinating getting into the mind of a Cy Young winner. I'm learning the different strategies with pitch selection and the order pitches are thrown. I'd imagine this would be very useful for a young pitcher that is learning how to attack hitters. I wish I would have had something like this when I was learning how to pitch. I guess I can use this when I play baseball video games.
This was awesome, brings back old memories of film review days. You gave lots of incite, and the knowledge you showed was unparalleled. Keep taking care of yourself. I can only hope that one day the Redsox have an opportunity to pick you up!
That yanked cutter HBP was the only blemish. He made a few mistakes and got some nice defensive plays, but overall he was nasty. Love that Cutter/Slider combo, and the fact that he has a change up and curve ball just makes it so he has so many options. Nice review.
Trevor, this is great man. I wish I still played but those days ended long ago as I took up other sports, but I absolutely love the analysis of this game. I learned so so much. Also glad to see you in the Dodger blue 🤩
@13:23 I believe there was no other base runner, only a hit by pitch away from a perfect game, but it was the first Padres no-hitter, so I won’t complain!

Musgrove was on a 80 pitch cap this early in the season. Went exclusive off speed after 6th inning. That HBP was the only blemish. Padres finally broke thru the glass!
This was awesome, gonna send it to my HS kids to watch, if I want one thing more it would be could you explain more about pitches that look like misses? I used to not like Trevor Bauer the way he swings his shoulders back and forth, I thought he was like making fun of the batter he had just struck out, but now after the comment he made about Fernando Tatis Jr. When he allowed the two home runs, and said it was ok with him with batters to celebrate their good at bats, and that the game should go in that direction, now I feel a lot of respect for him, because I think he’s right,it’s always good to have a little rivalry to make the games more interesting as long as they keep that rivalry healthy and don’t start throwing 100mph pitches at batters heads. Trevor the odds of you actually seeing this comment is slim to none.... but in case you do... how would you feel about a hitter bunting for a hit against you in the late innings if this no-hit bid, with it being a 3-0 game? What about a 1 run game?

Yet, the same MLB has Bauer under the microscope for seeing if he is putting illegal substances on the baseball when he is on the mound.
