***** Enhanced edition should fix it, yes. Bear in mind that most of EE is just a bunch of already-available fixes packed into one easy-to-use download. Why is it borderline impossible to find a bioware game (other than knights of the old republic) that doesn't at least imply the main character is going to have sex wIth someone.
TheGreatNickpolean No, i was just surprised. Mass Effect and Dragon Age have it for sure. From what i've played of Baldur's Gate 2 i can say that there's at least hints, numerous ones. Especially nowadays it's pretty much a requirement for every rpg (and don't leave the gays out). It's an appeal thing i think. It's actually a bit ridiculous. I'd find it refreshing to see more romances without it but that's just because i'm weird.
Well as previously stated, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic has romances that do not require sex. That admittedly the relationships in the first game are rather barebones and virtually nonexistent in the second game.
I know this is the Enhanced Edition, but it would be cool to see you play through some of the original BG2 computer mods, such as Kulyok's Xan, the Kivan mod, and the Solaufein mod. I think there are also some options for Haer'Dalis and Imoen, too.
Do those not work with EE? The last time I visited the modding scene, I thought they were working on EE compatibility? That's disappointing if it's true... Xan and Haer Dalis are tied for my two favorite NPC romances of all time, INCLUDING all the Bioware-canon ones. :) And Sarevok's would beat them both if it wasn't TOB-only...
Um, anyone else experienced Aerie trying to romance female character? I play EE version, but she was supossed to be straight, that's why I find it weird. o.O
If the dialogue is identical (and Aerie only makes references to men/males specifically when talking about her partner's sex), I presume it is a glitch.
19:22 how did you trigger this scene?, in my playthrough only Baltazar and Melisaan remains, i'm traveling from place to place and i can't trigger it, maybe i can do it with console?, because i cant wait long
It takes a LOT of time. Like, tbh, she really shouldn't be having the baby in-game at all. If you're determined to see it, though, you can open up the console and check this variable: CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("AeriePregnantTimer","GLOBAL") The number it gives you is the number of seconds you have (in REAL time) before you'll see the scene. It's going to be a crazy-long time, like the equivalent of keeping your game paused for 2-3 days. If you don't have time for that, use the AdvanceRealTime code until the scene triggers. Hope that helps!
I didn't get any of this. I wonder if it's because I had to kick her out and put her back in every time she uses lesser restoration on someone, to reset her fatigue level
@@somemong989I asked because I was wondering if you found Level Drain to be a punishing game mechanic or if you *can* ordinarily handle the penalty but felt like saving time.
having finished my own playthrough, I just realized you're missing a few parts. I don't suppose there's any chance you'll redo and complete it, is there?
Fidgety Rock I have played this game so many times that I know how to do everything fast, and I am running this game with a lvl 32 cleric, paladin, or sorcerer, who are all op as fuck, and if I pour 8+ hours into it a day, and do everything possible, it takes me at least three weeks to beat it, and I already know everything and have everything. I once played through with just my sorcerer and viconia cuz I needed a cleric and beat it with no trouble
I'd actually have accepted that, that's a reasonable justification for a sequel. I do still believe a nwn3 would have been a better candidate for a game than bg3
@@Ragitsu I just joking ok... It didn't really happened. I'm not a fan of Wizard of the Coast's Canon either but I like all BG equally (haven't played bg1 or 2 yet)

druid level 7: regeneration. problem solved forever. I never liked this Aerie "boo hoo my wings" thing cause it just doesn't fit into the game world, which is rare for canon stuff. these games were really well crafted when it comes to the setting
They only recorded the first line of dialogue for each event. BG2 came out in 2000, before BioWare was ensla-... owned by EA and was making licensed games like BG and Neverwinter Nights in order to build funds to make their own IPs (Mass Effect). So even that much was considered quite a lot of recorded dialogue. Quite a big leap to the 100,000 lines of recorded dialogue in The Old Republic in 2011, huh?
***** Raelis Shai (in the Five Flagons Playhouse) reads out most of her text when you come to her after having rescued Haer-dalis, however. So there are exceptions to the "first line only" rule, and sometimes voice actors read out entire paragraphs or the first two lines at least.
lol, to give up the life of a god for this. Even if he took, he could still be with his son...Aerie too for that matter. I have no idea why they think otherwise. Plane travelling might not be common but it's not too hard in FR either. Then BAM! immortal god with son and wife.
Because they'd eventually die? Just because the player becomes immortal doesn't mean his wife and kid are, besides, it's implied that becoming a god removes some of the ascended persons "humanity" and morals depending on the god's portfolio. Bhaal being the god murder and death, it'd probably eventually make the player at the very least darker by a few orders of magnitude.
I look at it like this: Ascending to godhood with a good character makes you one of the good gods. Your child is thus a demigod. You can make both your wife and child immortal, or extremely long-lived, as is the case with Elminster and Mystra. Aerie gets her wings back as well. If a human's life is in that way extended beyond a millennium, imagine how long an elf would live. Amaunator made some of his followers immortal and had a physical avatar. Imagine what he would do if he had a wife. In an eventuality that they should both die, their souls would be with you in some sort of heaven. It is truly the best option for all involved. On a side note, you could enlarge Boo, and give him the power of flight. Imagine Minsc as your paladin, riding a flying giant space hamster, slaying all evil in his wake.
***** Well it does have a few sex scene, but I do not see why people have to think of it as being so inappropriate I believe that it adds more to the romance and the connection to the npc. I know some games throw sex out there in a way that is not always the most romantic lol... but I believe Baldur's Gate succeeded in making a lot of amazing romances. (Aerie being my favorite)

Aerie is an angel (no pun intended).
This is amazing but i think you missed the part in Baldur's Gate 2 where Bodhi kidnaps Aerie in the cementery starting some incredible quests regarding this romance.
I see, I'm happy enough knowing you tried, because yes, that arc touched my heart back in the days...
***** You need to use the unofficial fix mods in order to stop this from happening. The game is almost 100% bug-free if you use the correct mods.
***** Enhanced edition should fix it, yes. Bear in mind that most of EE is just a bunch of already-available fixes packed into one easy-to-use download. (Of course there are a few other things it adds) I recently played through BG2EE and it worked fine, I used several other mods as well though.

+50MML whats the trouble with reviving her don´t you just need to carry her with bodhis heart to the temple of Amaumnator? (umar hills quests) and put her in the shrine where you get the sling +3?
This was probably the best part. When my solo Paladin tore Bodhi down to pieces in a few seconds for what that abomination did to my Love was one of the greatest moments in my gaming history. Except the ToB ending, I suppose.
Thanks a lot for this video, it reminds a lot. Will you do the same for Viconia and Jaheira ?
I really love this romance it was pretty cute.
I made a gnome as my protagonist so it was really cool when I learned she was also a cleric for god of gnomes.
And then you made a weird flying gnome elf bastard.
@@Popebug the joy of the genetics never let us down ^_^ .
In my opinion, I will found funny if the child are only winged elf who way taller than their father.

1. "I'm a miracle soul healer"
2. "I'm a nice guy but let's carry on"
3. "meh, let's carry on"

Well it's all nice to give her hope for a new life, love and a child, AND BOOM, I WANNA BE A GOD, CYA, and leave both of them... Only now do I realise what a tremendous asshole I was XD
Here's a funny idea, pick a black portrait for the Baalspawn and choose to become god in the end.
Aerie realizes she's a mage right? Fly is a 3rd level spell, and there are a crap ton of magic items to help you fly xD
Why is it borderline impossible to find a bioware game (other than knights of the old republic) that doesn't at least imply the main character is going to have sex wIth someone.
You've got to be fucking kidding me.
What? Did my comment bother you?
TheGreatNickpolean *facepalm*
Now i get it. I thought you wanted MORE games with sex. Apparently not.
with all the names to be chosen, why "Quayle"? 🤣
Mods work just fine with EE
@@House_of_Caine PC exclusive, I assume? Or is there a way to make the mods work for the tablet and PS4 ports? If so, I would LOVE to add them!
@@kadajsnightqueen There may be some way to work it for the Android version, but it seems to be quite complicated and buggy at the moment.
Um, anyone else experienced Aerie trying to romance female character? I play EE version, but she was supossed to be straight, that's why I find it weird. o.O
If the dialogue is identical (and Aerie only makes references to men/males specifically when talking about her partner's sex), I presume it is a glitch.
You meet this one in a bar in the city...one of my fav ones to group up with.

If you're determined to see it, though, you can open up the console and check this variable: CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("AeriePregnantTimer","GLOBAL")
The number it gives you is the number of seconds you have (in REAL time) before you'll see the scene. It's going to be a crazy-long time, like the equivalent of keeping your game paused for 2-3 days. If you don't have time for that, use the AdvanceRealTime code until the scene triggers.
Hope that helps!
I loved her when I was 16 ;)
I didn't get any of this. I wonder if it's because I had to kick her out and put her back in every time she uses lesser restoration on someone, to reset her fatigue level
Interesting workaround!

Truły TheMultitude Oddyssey Tightens its Hołd on The Purpose.
Out of simple curiosity: is the sound bugged? The characters talk a little but then go silent all of the sudden.

The son and daughter could have got a god for a father, much like Zeus and Hercules I guess?
I look at it like this:
Ascending to godhood with a good character makes you one of the good gods.

Aerie is an Avariel (i.e., a winged elf); she is _not_ literally a bird nor is she an animal-elf hybrid.

does this game have a sex scene or something? cos all they do is talk - i mean if they do have romances - it should include something like sex.
Hello generation without fantasy
Baldurs Gate 2 doesn't need a sex scene, it's already amazing. It would just kill the experience.
