Its a high pressure fuel pump with high pressure lines to fuel rail for direct injection. It will have another pump in tank to pump fuel up to high pressure pump
14:20 Thats a high pressure fuel pump that is driven by the camshaft. As the cam spins, its pressurizing the fuel into the cylinder, because its direct injection hence the DD in vr30DDtt
Getting in to BMX is awesome but I would lower my standards if I were you. Bar spins and tail whips are both pretty high level tricks. I got a new car today!!!! Not quite the Japanese dream yet but after a year of my Renault which is pretty much dead now.. I’ve now got a 1.3L Vauxhall corsa, CDTI! Hell yeah!! My first turbo car and it’s amazing!!
Hopefully, Nissan and all the other Japanese manufacturers will promptly make the transition to electric motors. There is no escaping the fact that ICE cars will be totally obsolete by the end of this decade. As it stands with EVs, Japan is literally all at sea.
yep that's correct. Direct injection engines have a pump in the tank which feeds to a chain-driven high pressure pump that brings it up to the needed pressure for injection directly into the combustion chamber on the power stroke.
This one appears to be a high pressure fuel pump like you would find on some other manufacturers. Based on the location, this one is driven by a camshaft lobe. Be interesting to see where the direct injectors max out at too.
at 14:22 when you talk about the fuel pump, its for GDI, so high pressure fuel pump. Same tech hyundai uses in the veloster. had no idea this was gdi, but i guess thats cool... maybe?
Biggest thing with BMX, find friends that ride. Everyone ride differently even on the same obstecle. I always have the most fun and learn the most when we teach each other different styles or individual tricks. Same with Cars, always better together. Safer too, I've had a few injuries riding alone and can definitely say make sure there's people with you just incase.
14:38 I'm a bit late, I somehow missed this video :o Most modern cars (if not all by now due to euro norm) have direct injection with an additional high pressure fuel pump (kinda like a diesel) Actually it's nothing new; Mercedes has been doing it since... the 1930s, check out the DB601 V12 with a supercharger, and water methanol injection :) Also they used a mechanical analog "ecu" if you can call it that for their warplanes. Some engines now even run both, port and direct injection, I think they stage them, when more power is required the port injectors are used in addition. Same story if you want to make more power with a factory DI engine: There are usually aftermarket intakes with additional holes for port injectors and a fuel rail, so you can increase fuel and don't mess with the high pressure fuel pump. Also combats the carbon buildup on your valves.

Everything fits nicely in the new motors I like how the turbos are in the manifold…reverse side is, if you wanted bigger turbos do you need an entire manifold?
The flange out the head prob flows enough air well enough that you could easily bolt on some bigger ones. May not be needed for most though, I've heard the sister tt v6 engines in the infinitis make some pretty serious power with a flash tune and some bolt-ons
My advise as someone to used to ride BMX a few years back. Usually at the park people are the nicest and always willing to help you out. Also don't care about "looking good", No one cares and no one looks good at a skatepark! ;D
Sam my man...if you grew up a motorhead in the U.S., you almost CERTAINLY got an "Visible V8," and all of it worked (with the dc motor it came with and 4 batteries...D's??). They're pretty cool.

In America the VR30DDTT has been in the Infiniti Q's 50/60 for years now. There is good aftermarket support. With lower downpipes, exhaust ,most are getting 450 to the wheels. ADD some E30 and HFFP and get close to 500 wheel. Its a good engine . With the Z coming out it will only get better support.
The VR30DDTT was available since 2016 with the Infiniti Q50/Q60. AMS Performance already have performance parts along with it. I don't think the Z will have that many differences.

Honda chrysler Chevrolet Ford an a few other have been doing those style head that get rides of the manifold. Cam mechanical fuel pumps helps get those high pressure fuel systems. I work on Mazda that runs those fuel systems
I would imagine that it is a mechanical fuel pump, most stuff on cars now is electric Like water pumps and power steering that use lots of amp draw, and fuel pumps can do the same, less strain on the electrical system
