You can call us Taste Buds or the Two Guys behind the counter, it doesn't matter to us. We are two guys from Missouri doing a Craft Beer Review and a Whiskey Review (or Whisky Review depending where you are from) with a drive to always Try Something New. We won't drive you crazy with snobby tasting notes that no one else will understand, just a general idea of what the beer or food tastes like. We want YOU to join us in trying exciting new things to open our minds, and pallets, to something different. So join Chris Horn and Lyal Strickland as we foray into some suds and grains and stumble all over ourselves trying to sound smarter than they really are. Some of the things we love to try are Scotch, Bourbon, Rum, Tequila, wine, and craft beer of all kinds. We argue between Stouts and Porters, IPA and Sour, Farmhouse and Lager. I'm sure there isn't anything we won't disagree about except that we like to try new stuff.
If you have a favorite brewery or Distillery or anything else, be sure to send us a message so we can try it at Thosetastebudguys@gmail.com

You should fix your headline, since this is an anejo not a reposado LOL.
Just to give you some info about Ocho - this is not your standard tequila brand, it is ongoing experiment in "terroir" as it applies to Tequila. Each year they use agave harvested from different "ranchos" within the same region, some years multiple ranchos. I have a 2020 blanco from La Loma and a 2020 repo from Cerro Grande. The Tequilas are made and aged the same way, so the only difference is the agave used.
This brand is one of the most respected by Tequila lovers, because it is always exciting to try each new release and see how it stacks up to prior ones. Many people said the 2020 La Loma was the best 80 proof blanco they had in years (I agreed and bought a case after trying one). Now I have heard the 2021 blanco might be even better LOL.
The bottle you have is not the typical Ocho. They had three releases with different types of aging - Caribbean (rum barrels) and Continental (Cognac casks) and the one you have which is a blend of the two.

Gonna have to see if we have them for that. This one has really become one of our top choices.

So what sweeter ones additive free do you recommend close to ocho

For budget friendly, El tequileno, and el tesoro would be my first picks. I believe Cazadores is additive free but I wouldn’t swear to it. Their anejo is pretty dang tasty. On par with ocho, I would point you to G4 and fortaleza- Lyal
