I somehow missed out on this band until The Jacket came out a couple of years ago and videos like this don't make me any less sad about that. What an incredible performance.
In the pines babe In the pines Fore told White lies Black watter Shaky hands Meet me in the hallow river Kiss like an Indian giver Black lungs Take medicine men Smoke signals I can see it Dont loose your American spirit Second handing every air This is where we had a smoke With the savage hearts we We live where the sun never shines In the pines babe In the pines No one will find us there In the pines In the pines In the pines In the pines In the pines In the pines No one will find you
they refer to the 2 chords song above. with no offences but this music is way too primitive for the time we are living. you guys have to stop listening main stream media. btw there are 42 with me now. lol
as humans evolve they get into the civilized complexity of life and obsolescence is left behind. we could only agree if beauty in any case is a relative word based on the judgement of every individual. most people today NO longer use typewriters or the torch to light our home nor we believe the world is flat, etc. we might eventually forget this sort of mediocre music if ever we open our mind to evolution itself or we could simply listen to it for the eternity of our existence while we ride a horse by the main street.
You know our brain is like a massive multi-core processor. we can elaborate a certain amount of info simultaneously and the more we focus the more we can processes. why are we going to get stuck with a simple look to things when we could see the actual object from several perspectives and dimensions? we have the ability to dive and look into the deep of things and that's pretty much our role if we are to evolve fast. of course i don't mean to completely forget the past (that would be essentially impossible) but to use it in addition to what we create and move forward to. the problem with this music is that fails to add something new to what have been already created and overused. it lacks depth and complexity and their arrangements are quite narrow, in a certain way ignoring a whole universe that have been discovered just after. there is not merit to continuously repeat the same sketch over and over again and that's what's happening with most music today. we rarely get something fresh, instead we are just going back and fore to the 60's then 70's and 80's and so on. we are actually so focused on the past that we barely create something new. I say absolute simplicity is a thing of the past. we need to start looking at simplicity as part of something complex accordingly to our times.
Beguiling tune, immediately reminiscent of Elysian Fields (especially Molly Hamilton's witchy vocal style, which clearly owes a debt to the wonderful Jennifer Charles), but with an interesting country-gothic flavor that is more Nashville than Brooklyn. A band worth keeping tabs on.
Hey, this song has some resemblance to The Velvet's Underground song "All Tomorrows Parties" the instruments sound a bit similar, which is great!! They're totally sick!!!
Looks like a cigar box guitar, their a rudimentary 'home made' four string guitar made from bric a brac bits and pieces traditionally by poor folk/blues musicians. Some luthiers make them professionally now as the have become kind of fashionable.
Its made out of a cigar box, but its more of Appalachian mountain dulcimer. Diatonic fretting, light strings, bottom two are drone strings. :) Not to be a smartass or anything.
amazing song, but that guitarist is an unforgivable hipster. you can probably find him in a bar somewhere drinking micro-brewed, crowd-funded, locally sourced craft ales. he knew about it before you did.
The music and vibe is sooooo good but please to save yourself say some words, some vocals thats we can hear! If you continue the way you are nothing will happen.
they get the publicity and views based on how good they are. Personally i think they are a little slow and her voice does not have anything memorable or special about it and the chord progression was repetitive and kind of boring, and they're kind of just..slow? Everyone one in their own but i can see why they are not that popular.
Whoever is recording these groups is a master. Just amazing live sound from outdoor spaces.
...and this is why I go on youtube. This is the music that does the heart well.
This is absolutely divine. Can't stop listening.
her voice is beautiful
Oh shit... I've not heard this song in 10 years.... ❤️
Most down to earth band ever they actually talk to their fans.
SOMEBODY TAKE ME TO A BREEZY MEADOW IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WHERE I CAN CHILL AND LISTEN TO THIS ALL DAY

Art is creation all about bud. and yes, there is a revolution in every one of us!
peace.
nice song :))
best youtube version...much better than the album version...esp with the cigar box strings...you hear the majesty and grace

@@eislakkon3110 Thank you!
sound better live, I'd buy this, several times over
Nice music. Reminds me of Mazzy Star a bit.
banjo!
The singer looks a little like Shannon Woodward :] and I'm really digging this song.
Hey needless stress over nothing, where did you go just now?
What is that box instrument? This is quite cool :)
Looks like a cigar box guitar, their a rudimentary 'home made' four string guitar made from bric a brac bits and pieces traditionally by poor folk/blues musicians. Some luthiers make them professionally now as the have become kind of fashionable.
Joe Mc It's got quite a unique banjoesque sound. I'd love to make one of those and have a banjo-like instrument for super cheap :)
kind of people i want to hang out with
I seriously like this better than the original.
Wow, they actually look quite similar.

my apologies good sir, goodluck with your music V_V
Is this the singer for Seapony as we'll ?If not they could be sisters LOL
What's the singers name? absolutely beautiful
Sean McGinley Molly Hamilton
Beautiful, but the sining could be a bit louder for my taste.
pretty girl and the voice of a goddess.
Original what this is their song
I thought the point of sideshow alley is they sing in an alley, or is it not safe in alleyways in NY.
maduro style ese
is that guy playing a briefcase ?
i don't know what is real, but it can't be an guitar. it only has 4 strings. but it sounds really nice! :)
It's a cigar box guitar. Not too difficult to fabricate and there's all different styles.
So beautiful....hairs.... back of neck....heaven.

Is it too much trouble to credit each musician by name? You credit the entire production crew...are the musicians really not that important to you?
Lovely ! I keep stealing drumming ideas, for teeny gigs
Yeah I realized that as soon as I typed it and felt super embarrassed.
is he playing a guitar made out of a cigar box?
Sounds like a folky Cranberries
amazing song, but that guitarist is an unforgivable hipster. you can probably find him in a bar somewhere drinking micro-brewed, crowd-funded, locally sourced craft ales. he knew about it before you did.
so? hes doin his thing

Sounds like Puente by Gustavo Cerati
The music and vibe is sooooo good but please to save yourself say some words, some vocals thats we can hear! If you continue the way you are nothing will happen.

is it just me or does her voice sounds like Lana Del Rey?
You need to clean your fucking ears.
I'm not gay so you can stop hitting on me now.
polarbear242 you don't have to gay with a pretty mouth like that
