- Throughout many of the trailers, we've seen Ripper take such an unlikely Fascination to the little girl in the movie. This is an interesting twist because, in previous Jurassic Park movies, The kids were usually getting chased as well.
The Indoraptor Seems to specifically be Hell bent on chasing after Maisie Lockwood. Could it be that he's just following her because he's imprinted on her?

I think Indoraptor was trying to protect the girl in an instinctual way. We found out at the end that the little girl was genetically made just like the Indoraptor so it might have been able to sense this and felt a fatherly protectiveness to the little girl but didn't quite fully understand it either. Was just going by instinct alone. Would explain the curious and determined nature of the Indoraptors behavior towards the little girl.

Well that could be a nice thing of the Indoraptor. The Indoraptor not attacking, hunting, or eating Maisie. It might be weird that the indoraptor is good but it’s kind of the sweet and heroic of that guy.

So, if you watched the movie you know Macie screams while running from the Indoraptor. I noticed that when she was screaming it was sort of like a raptor call. If you think of the way Blue barks and listen to how Macie screams it's somewhat similar pattern wise. So maybe the IndoRaptor being a pack animal, was trying to follow his pack member.

I agree it sounds like before she screamed like a Raptor but before in the cage when Ripper was in the cage it sounds like maisie scream and Maisie sounds like a raptor but it's also sound like a indoraptor sound too and I wish somebody could make fanfiction about this it would be more sense of what fanfiction will be like.

When you think about it, his bio is based off the thoughts of the scientists that made him, they never really do many tests aside from testing his murderous capabilities.

I really like this theory. It would be a nice twist most people would not expect because we`re so used to dinosaurs portraied as monsters and killing machines who just want to eat you. I think they are trying to mislead us with the trailers, they show to much and there needs to be some kind of a twist. A theory of mine is that the IR is reaching out slowly with its claws towards maisie because she has propably done the same when he was a hatchling and its one of the only positive things he remembers in his life. I mean reaching out with its claws like this two times in the trailers is such a human thing to do. It is also confirmed that the IR was held in a small cage in the dark for his whole life and was being mistreated, he is mentally unstable and shows signs of illness. This could be because he`s large part raptor and they are very social animals who live in packs. He is losing scales like parrots are losing feathers if they are held alone. In short the IR looks sick because he is lonely and if he really imprinted on maisie as a baby its no wonder he is following her around looking as if he is hunting her. He has every chance to kill her many times and for some reason doesn`t. Of course it could be that he is playing with her, but why does he kill others swift and fast like this one guy in the trailer. A other interesting thing is that every time maisie screams the IR roars at her in responds, like he thinks she is comunicating with him and imitates her.

This is a really good idea. There is a possibility the indoraptor imprinted on Maisie. And it would explain his curiosity and interest in her. Brilliant speculation.

To be fair it could've been possible considering how easily raptor squad went along with the Indominus Rex but we have all this new footage that proves otherwise. Hell, even I thought Blue might end up mating with the Indoraptor too.

Agreed with all of this, I got the implication that the Indoraptor imprinted on Maisie ever since I first saw the film in theater. Another detail I'd like to add is that several times when Maisie has run away from the Indoraptor, it gives out a high pitched distress call; the same kind of distress call we see the velociraptors give in the previous films when they need a pack mate's help.

My theory on why he took his sweet-ass time to kill her is:
Remember howthat video of the raptors fighting Owen as babies when he showed weakness, but Blue was the only one that showed sympathy? The Indoraptor has some of Blue's DNA which means the Indoraptor COULD have been showing SYMPATHY not trying to KILL her.

Well, I'm pretty sure Ripper likes to feast on the fear of its victims before feasting on their flesh. He took his time killing the hunter, he roared at the people in the elevator, he slowly stabbed the woman's leg with his claw. Tell you more, I think that's the reason it "did not find" our heroic trio even though they were literally around the corner of that thing the triceratops head was mounted on. He knew they were there (with all his incredible senses), but he wanted to make them very afraid. Like when you are hopelessly hiding from a monster that slowly gets closer and closer.
Im pretty sure he was challanging his "alpha" for dominance to become leader. To do that he would have to kill her.
In the trailer, the Indoraptor sneaks into the girls room and says,
"Mommy. I'm scared of the dark. Can I please stay with you?"

Dont read further if you havent seen the movie yet and dont want to be spoiled. I live in germany and the movie is already out here. I watched it yesterday.
The movie was good and really entertaining. It has its flaws but also very good and emotional and funny moments. Sadly this theory doesnt become truth, I really liked the whole imprint on maisie theory. But there is still a big deal with maisie going on. She is a clone of ben lockwoods daughter who died many years ago in a car crash. He raised her as his granddaughter but till the end of the movie she doesnt know that she is a clone.
Although the theory has not come true, there is a lot of foreshadowing that it could still be a thing in JW3. Dr Wu escapes with the dna to make more indoraptors. In one scene maisie hears him saying that the next indoraptor generation needs a mother. He wanted blue not only for her dna but also to be the mother figure for the next generation. So its foreshadowing that either blue or maisie could be the next „mother“. They also foreshadowed the possibility that maisie has in fact dinosaur (raptor) dna in her.
While watching I had the feeling that the indoraptor tried to communicate with her in every scene they were together. Every time maisie screamed he would try to imitate that sound, when she hides in her bed he is reaching out and sniffs at her. I do think he wanted to kill her, but he was also fascinated with her in a very strange way.
My theory is now, that in JW3 there will be other indoraptor babys but they will not imprint on blue like Dr Wu wants that to happen, but imprint on maisie and she becomes to them what owen is for blue.

There’s a really interesting fanfic called “Its Not the Raptor DNA” I know fanfic isn’t the most prestigious medium for writing but bare with me. In this story a branching path is pursued in which Blue refuses the Indominus’s recruitment attempt. The iRex tries to attack Blue but halts when Owen throws himself in the way. After quickly assessing her behavior and attempting to communicate with her, finding she can understand him just fine, he makes the connection that iRex had a bit of human DNA thrown in the mix. They name her Elise. It’s an incredibly well written story that pursues the concept incredibly well.
There's a scene in the movie where Owen is near the Indos cage chasing after the bad guy. If you pay attention to the raptor, she stopped paying attention to all the stuff going on and followed Owen as best she could in her tiny cage. Owen had been with Masie. Owen had her scent. The indoraptor definitely imprinted.

It was partially tranqued twice, almost fell on the glass twice, then blue got it to fall through where it died almost instantly on the trike skull and blue screams its dominance. Plus only time she touched it was the first time in the cell and in her bed and it wasn't even her it was the indoraptor.
Because Maisie is a clone you have to understand that the Indo raptor is also a clone so there might be a certain bond between them they might’ve been related somehow, And we all realize how smart the in Dominus Rex was so if the Indo raptor was supposed to be smarter she should understand that there could be a bond between them

There is a very simple explanation for this: Maisie is part raptor. The indoraptor goes after Maisie because he can smell raptor on her, and even if she is just a little girl while Owen and Claire are older, the indoraptor would still deal with the potential threat before taking out the easy prey. Not that Maisie can fight or anything, it’s just that she would smell like a raptor, and raptors are very violent creatures, so the indoraptor would most likely perceive her as a threat.
Considering the Indoraptor's interest in Maisie, I have to wonder if he could tell by scent alone that Maisie was also a clone. Maybe he was so eager to keep her in his sights because he viewed her as a "sister" of sorts based on that. Because he's acting awfully docile when he comes into her room and tries to touch her for the second time in the whole film.
What if his Parental Instincts were coming to the Fore concerning the girl? What if he views her as a Chick, maybe even as pack or family?

Mr Fluffy859 Actually, Ripley was the mother of the newborn xenomorph because Ripley was cloned along with the queen xenomorph chest burster inside her. We also know that ripley and the queen shared DNA because we see ripley get a cut and her blood has some acid in it, from the queen. So yeah, ripley is technically the mother. The newborn wasn't imprinted onto ripley, but ripley was the real mom.
I actually really like this theory. At initial glance, oh, you think this kid is going be done-zo. The first kid to die in a JP franchise movie - which I actually don't want to see happen. This create wouldn't waste it's time on a small human. Maisie is in no a way a threat. I think the Indoraptor happens to have the ability to be well aware of who could be a threat. If he's not attacking Owen & Claire either, and even the hunter, then it's those who created him that's he's after. Is it June 22nd yet?

When I found out in plot that Maisie's mom died under mysterious circumstances, my first thought was that they used her as part of the cloning process with the indoraptor...it's one of those 'make yer skin crawl' theories that I had with the irex as well. When Owen was freaking out about the realization of the lab putting raptor in it, but with how the irex had acted (hunting for sport and being so cruel) well those are some not so good traits that are only found in humans...also I wouldn't put it past the JP labs to try something like that
I think the indoraptor may have known Maisie is a clone and is curious about her for whatever reason, maybe seen her as non threatening since she’s little. Maybe saw her from a distance growing up without her realizing, and became attached to her. Another thought during Jurassic Park Fallen Kingdom, the Indoraptor may have been chasing after Owen, Claire, and Maisie wanting to protect Maisie from Owen and Claire harming her. Hopefully some clarification will happen in the next movie.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this! I for sure thought the twist was going to be that the raptor had imprinted on Maisie because it had more of Maisie's DNA than Blue's. I thought there would be a moment when Maisie remembered Owen's training tapes and, as a last resort, tried reaching out her hand to the indoraptor to make a connection like Owen did with Blue.
Maybe Ripper was trying to protect her? He never really tried to attack her, he just chased her around. You’d think he would just attack her right away, but he just slowly approached her, and when Maisie turns her back to the cage, it strokes her hair. It doesn’t try slashing at her or anything. But they killed him off, so that sucks.

I think the indoraptor has human DNA of some kind. Although certain dinosaurs in this universe are smart, like normal raptors, the indo is just simply sadistic and cruel, hunting for sports. It also "smiled" when it literally lewered the poacher into the cage. Also, with human intelligence there comes curiosity as well which would explain a lot.
Im sure she wanted to eat her, though for other reasons. My theory is that since it (may have) imprinted on her, like most creatures, it saw her as the alpha. But like other raptors, he wanted to challenge her for superiority. As it saw her as weak and non-dominant, and wanted to ensure he was leader/alpha. Mixing in the fact that he's psychotic, he had a very high fixation on her and continously attacked her, seeing others as side dishes.
I think this is not only a great theory, but also a great idea for the Jurassic story. It would show, that the dinosaurs beyond raptors could be trained, and imprinted on. It would really be heart breaking the way you described a scene where he tries to nuzzle her, or maybe a plot twist where he protects the girl, from an oncoming dinosaur attack?

The theory has to make sense, funserious. It's pretty clear in the first and second trailer that the Indoraptor wants to kill the kid.

Under wolf 34 , The Indoraptor has almost human intelligence, enabling it to have complex emotions. It is very much possible that the little girl donated some of her DNA or blood to create him, or even had it forcefully taken from her. Also, Indoraptor
May be less hostile around her because he knows, somehow, that they share DNA. Just a thought.

I had a hen that I think imprinted on me. She sadly passed at 2 1/2 years of age. She got injured in the night, and the others.... ate her. I was quite upset, and mortified. Ironically 4 of my hens (her sisters) names are Charlie, Delta, Blue, and Eco. Goldy was the hen who passed. my other hens are sugar, caramel, pepper, and bandit. Like it is said on the Jurassic World Facts app (The Indoraptor uses echolocation like bats) that would be one reason that it didn’t immediately attack Maisie. Indoraptor’s paw anatomy looks similar to Indominus Rex’s, suggesting that it might also be part human as well because of it’s thumbs. It also responds to targeting lasers and sonic devices in a manner like a mix of what bats and animals like snakes can do. It’s anatomy also suggests a bit of 🐊 in it’s DNA because of it’s body armor and teeth.

I have a few theories. Maisie was young, which means weakness to a predator. In the animal kingdom apex predators such as lions and hyenas will target young, injured and old prey because they are easier to kill and make a quick meal. For example, orcas are known to play with their food and are intelligent animals. He could be just getting the thrill of terrifying her the most and enjoying the hunt. A monster dino trying to kill a little girl definetley acheived the darker movie feel the director's wanted. The Indo I think was just sadisitic because it was made to be a living lethal weapon. Just a messed up creature/prototype. But I'm glad the whole hybrid thing won't continue in the next movie.
it would be wonderful to see a plot twist where indo instead of attacking massie is very friendly to her. he licks her, rubs her, protects her, talks to her, helps her and she petting him hugs and even rides on him. or even better. bad guys lead to death of indoraptor, blue get mad because she befriended him too. she created a bond with him and the loss of one being with which she might be , caused blue to break. that would show what effect the presence of the indoraptor had on her. it could expand her character.
Ever since the Indoraptor was first announced during the time the movie was being filmed, I’ve had this particular speculation. I cannot believe that it’s actually turning out to be true (specifically I don’t think he IMPRINTED on Maisie, I just think he holds the same unique interest for her as King Kong did with Anne Darrow).
They want blue's DNA because the indoraptor is not a 100% creation. With Blue's DNA they could create a better version of the indoraptor and thats why they want her. Furthermore, it has been mentioned that blue is a special breed of velociraptor so it adds more onto why they want to capture her and use her to create a better indoraptor.
I believe in this theory because;
First, the indoraptor is full grown and blue has a certain age already so it is possible that the indoraptor was created before they captured blue.
Secondly, at the end of the Jurassic world movie they escaped with all the dinosaur DNA, which adds on to the possibility of starting the indoraptor experiment. They created him and saw that it wasn't a pure combination and this is why the indoraptor is sick, so they decided to get new forms of DNA, that were more pure; such as Blue's DNA to make a perfect hybrid
Well you have some flaws we don't know if ripper is full grown and they did not escape with all the DNA only 9 vials and what they'd mean not full grown is maybe he will get a little taller and bones will beckme larger

I think the Indoraptor has a sick sense of humor. He is very intelligent, as seen with him and the man in the cage when he was faking being asleep to wait to kill the man. I think he likes his prey being in terror before he kills them, and taking his sweet time to grab Maisie while she was so frightened amused him. Of course this is just a thought.

They didn't take blood from Blue to make Ripper. They wanted Blue to make another "Ripper" with Blue's genes because the prototype (Ripper) was not quite what they were looking for. They wanted Ripper to be more like Blue. However, they did talk about how if they shared blood then that new "Ripper" would be fond of and think of Blue as his/her mother.

after all mazey is a clone made by dr. wu in spite of Lockwoods daughter who died. Who knows what DNA was put into her but did anyone notice that blue was not attacking Mazey like she did to just about anyone else who got in her sights. She might be part raptor. That could be a reason why the indoraptor did not attack her just like the indominous did not attack. Also Lockwood might have put raptor DNA in to mazey so she doesn't die stupidly again.

Because they mentioned she's a clone of the real maisie I think the Scientists just couldn't help themselves but to add Dinosaur DNA into this clone.I mean the entire Auction was going on right beneath Lockwoods noose and he only found out due to Maisie listening to a conversation. So honestly it wouldn't surprise me if something like this happened right beneath lockwoods noose again. Also she is insanely sneaky in the movie, to the point where she litterally jumpscares the audience, in a dinosaur / raptor like way. She just seemed odd throughout the entire movie like she wasn't entirely human. And the scene where the Indoraptor was reaching for her behind the bars and touched her would add to a theory where the Dinosaurs or atleast the Indoraptor can feel a raptor like presence in her. Me and my brother were joking about this.Saying "SHES THE QUEEN OF THE DINOSAURS CAUSE THEY ARE ALL CLONES AS WELL!" Though we did talk about the darker implications she could bring. That she didnt really care what would happen to the world when she let them all out cause she simply is not a normal human. She relates more to the dinosaurs then she does with the normal humans.
Masie didn’t see the Indoraptor before the movie, she was surprised to see it in the lab cages and didn’t know the password to the lab until she saw it being unlocked
