if someone wondering why chloe keep it secret, in japan they believe blood type closely related to someone's real life personality so its like personal information. as far as i know AB is quite rare

Chloe nuked all of her previous channels and social media after joining hololive so it's almost a given she wouldn't reveal any personal information. She's a really private person. The ghost incident hinted that she's also very cautious as well.

It's not really a "belief" kind of deal and more a "make-belief". People know that it's not true, but also want to believe it is for that sweet sweet conversation topic. The same thing with astrology.

@@FrenchDinosaur I doubt the blood type thing is just a make-belief as you call it because there really are hardcore people about that in Japan. But even the majority still believe a little in that.
Same for astrology in the western world, even in self-proclaimed "non-believer" spheres, as contradictory as it may seem.
It's not because people don't define their whole life around it like for religion that they don't believe in it, even a little.
And it's basically the same for any kind of unproved/unprovable beliefs, like ghosts: most people are scared of ghosts but most of them will tell you they know they don't exist... but they're afraid of them.
      People.

Is it only in Japan that blood type reveals personality?

in korea too I think they always assume like A is the upright person, B is the energetic one, AB is the "weird" one etc

Not entirely. Like, it’s no longer a thing here, but it used to be. There are still some remnants, like saying people obsessed with cleanliness and organization and stuff have a “type-A personality”.

Yeah, it is. I was just noting the cultural idea isn’t exclusive to Japan. Honestly, I think most Japanese people think it’s all bogus, but it’s still fun for them.

Taiwan as well. Most cultural things in Japan are present in Taiwan due to formerly being a Japanese colony. Entertainment, fashion, service industry culture etc. in Taiwan are all very Japanese influenced.

It's their way of evaluating a person. This is quite prominent in Japanese dating scenes.

Wait 4 blood types? Isn't there 8 blood types?
like the positive and negatives too.. Or does Japan consider the plus and minus a non-factor when determining personality types?
Also which blood type is the smelliest? As that would probably be Chloe-chan's.. (wait do Orca's have different blood types to humans?)
So many questions not enough time. :P
EDIT: blood type AB is pretty rare, with only about 2-3 percent of the world's population having it, so Iroha-chan is pretty unique in that aspect...
(I'm O+ btw the most common with 37% of the world's population.) ^_^

In Japanese context, they're only concerned about the 4 main letters. This is for interest in a person's personality, and especially for dating purpose.

I find the notion that blood type having some kind of relation to your personality to be a bit silly..... but to be fair, it's a lot more rational/less absurd than crap like astrology & horoscopes because at least the blood type thing is based on your actual personal physiology.
