    Great breakdown of the Jerry González style! If I may add something, Jerry would often hit the second open (the one on the conga/tres golpes) with the left hand instead of the right when he wasn’t going to the quinto. This variation is useful for those of us who want to keep the quinto in the center. Jerry kept his conga at his center and his quinto to his left which is why he usually (but not always) hit the second open with the right hand. But he did it both ways. For those who want to keep their conga to the left of the quinto, you can, You just have to hit the second open with the left hand instead of the right. The rest is the same.
