We are back with another summer walleye fishing video! In this video we are fishing Lake Winnebago for some summer time walleyes. We use a fun trolling set up to target basin roaming walleyes on mud flats. In this video I talk all about trolling tips that help me catch more walleyes. If you are new to trolling or looking for some information this video should help you develop a trolling pattern on your lake. Thanks for watching!

Love the narration. Sounded like an audiobook. 😂
It really is an easy lake to fish. Glad to see Tom do a trolling video here.
Great narration Tom, suprised the heck out of me and got a good giggle out of it. I'm liking how transparent you're getting with the live streams and imperfections like this.
A polished product can sometimes be less relatable.
Wishing you tight lines buddy
P.S. don't be so hard on yourself Mitch! It happens...
Also please don't slow down on the content guys. I hooked into a 7.11 lbs baby girl on Monday so my fishing life will be lived vicariously through your channel for the foreseeable future 😂
Ive always been on team Mitch, but dang idk after that net job 😮
Great video! You got me excited about boards again!
Thanks for doing this again! Been picking it up and slowly getting better and better.
I’m glad all the missed net attempts made the cut, for Mitchell’s sake lol. Thanks for the vid, my dad is getting older and I need to learn to troll to save on his hands
Reef Runner the OG of deep trolling Walleyes. 600nis ideal for inland lakes and the fish are nor acclimated to them like a flicker shad
awesome video Tom
Yes!!! About time you hit bago! Love it. Try the upriver lakes next time too.
😂😂 the narration was hilarious 🤣
Thank you for going to Winnebago great video sorry you lost that big walleye. One of the best videos I've seen on Winnebago.👍👍
Great video loved it. I have a net man like Mitchell also. Lol
You and Mitch are a good team! Love the interaction warts and all
Thanks for watching
Tom you should do a video on Lake Petenwell on your way home
Thanks for doing the trolling video as requested!!
Awesome video Tom!! Winnebago system is my playground
There are chances at 8 pounders or bigger or 28 inch fish. My biggest is a 27in bago pig.
Best video of the year!
Ah, what a heartbreaker.
Hard not to be disappointed but at the end of the day she was going to swim away anyway. At least that’s what I tell myself after something like that.
Love the videos keep them coming, looks like I need some reef runners!
Thanks for the info. I'm getting ready to retire and hope to become a traveling walleye fisherman!!
Hahaha love the narration
Good summer time video!! Use a similar bait to the reef runner!! Love that color choice!!
Thanks, Tom, for the video on Winnebago 😊😊
Thanks for watching!
Adding 4 Folbe rod holders has transformed quick hooksetting, especially while trolling.
Beepers on the rods are optional, but my buddy is watching the rod spread of Leadcore on top, downriggers at 25 to 35, planers out 50 feet to port and starboard.
I love big Wallys, J 13 Rapals and bid Shad Raps in Bull Shoals and Table Rock. A 22 inch average since April.
Dope ass sequence haha
Woahhh Tom fished BAGO?? I love it fish out there 3-5 days a week after work. Love it
just crushed walleyes in Ontario for the opener primarily trolling. Was dragging a Northland Rumble shiner and Rapala floater weighed down and caught quite a few tanks throughout the week in like 5 ft of water
Nicely done
Five feet? I'm a little jealous.
North Central Arkansas Walleye are suspended at the 30 thermocline on these huge, clear, and deep highland reservoirs.
@@richardbennett1856I was up near Rainy Lake Ontario and we always catch them in less than 10ft. I think it’s because the mayfly hatch was firing and they were all coming super shallow
@@billbee235 I wish they were that shallow in the daytime in NC Arkansas.
Clear Highland Reservoirs in July have the shad in 30 to 50 feet of water.
Hundreds of Mayfllies around the boat, thousands of various minnows under the lights at night.
Damnit Mitchel! Good help is hard to find.
Great video and nice to see someone using baits that aren't Salmos or Flickers.
Hey Tom, good video!! Are you planning on doing any more lake superior trolling for lake trout videos? I thought they were very informative! Thanks
Great job Tom, Winnebago can be a tough nut to crack but you unlocked it pretty quickly.
Thanks for watching!
Most South Central Wisconsin Lakes are slow in July.
Job well done!
I've been busting tail out here now for 5 minutes... I literally LOL'd
Sweet beacuse im hitting my fav lake tomorrow. Cd7 wallys and skitter raps.. slow troll
Nice
Can you do a video on fishing the Zander in South Dakota? Kinda interested in seeing a segment on that
Where I live in Southern Minnesota we have a lot of dark water lakes that max out at 10 to 25 feet. You can catch walleyes in 3 feet of water just as long as it's open, even trolling sometimes, it's insanely fun.
You fish lake hanska? Ive done that there
@@zillobeast5257 I have a few friends that have. I haven't gone there, but it always sounds like a pretty good lake.
Making it Happen Boom!
I'd love to see an educational video on different styles of boards. im curious of your take. I've only ran offshore boards.
Would have loved to see your GPS and how you "bump into structure". Also, maybe an explanation on how you drive the boat. My guess is the difference between you and general public are the little driving tips you have spent a lifetime developing.
If Mitch edited this vid ….i think it made up for the botched net job!! Great vid
I forgave him haha
Using those tki rod holders as intended
How do you get the board different distances from the boat?
What speed you running?
How fast were you trolling?
Love to see you do one like this in Minnesota we're you can only use one line
Exactly, this guy acts like he is some big shot trolling 6 lines in the water try doing 1 bud
We have filmed plenty of videos trolling 1 rod here is 1.

@@TomBoley i know tom dont worry ive seen them before, i just wanted to roast you because you deserve to get roasted
Tom , great video ! Wanted to know about your planer board layout . It looked like you reeled the outside board directly over your 2 inside boards ? How did you not get lines crossed up while reeling your outside line in? Maybe I missed something? Thx !
stagger the depths. Deepest on the inside, shallowest on the outside
Tom you should come and do a ice fishing video on the lake.
Battle on Bago next year! The perch fishing is on par with the eyes! Would love to see ya in the Big Tent Friday Night! Always an epic event!!
Nice work boys! What size snap weight?
If I had to guess those were the 2oz offshore tackle guppy weight
Dock that camera man's pay😂
It's already as low as possible
Any plans to venture north of the border? Would love to see Tom do a beatdown on some 30+ inch Manitoba Greenback walleyes 🎣
I agree
We got some 30s coming to RUclips soon.
Clayton Schick & Tom Boley Tagteam Beatdown 😂
Can you share min / max / normal troll speeds for those reef runners? I have only used the traditional Rapalas, but I'm interested in giving the reef runners a shot.
Min speed 1mph. Max 3mpg
@@TomBoley Thanks! Perfect for kayak trolling. 😁
Bro you need to come up to New York and fish Oneida lake
Reality T.V. Stuff happens, so big fish got away, probably wasn't the first and it won't be the last. Camera was fading in and out just before the fish got away, clean escape!
I love trolling, curious what reel you are using. You listed a piscifun but this is a trolling reel.
I’ve been running okuma cold water reels for four years and wouldn’t run anything else for trolling
I do like cold waters . These are diawa sealines. I use cold waters for all my lead ore
Have you ever fished manitoba before?
Tom, how was Peck!?
Absolutely must see the aftermath of that net job, put it on the walleye now with parental discretion required 😂
You know when Mom and Dad fight and it makes ya feel really uncomfortable......
Step into my office Mitchell
Why?
Because you’re fcking fired 🤣
I knew you could do it; proves you can catch fish w/out burying you're head in the spotlight screen
Show a couple sheepshead bro. No shame in that game.
What reel are those? No link
Diawa sealine
When I troll my local river all I get is giant females, fun to fight, as strong as salmon when they reach 30+ but horrible to cut up lol made the mistake once in my life with just a 28 inch one. Smallest one this year trolling has been 25.5, the largest popped off at the boat while I was waiting for a rude boater's wake to pass. I run my river in a dinghy lol so when guys blast past me I get tossed and half the time have to reposition my boat to take the wake head on to keep from taking on water. I would have released her anyways but she was huge, would have loved to touch and measure her up. I would say 32 and I'm usually conservative and short on my estimates lol
That should have been a textbook netjob sorry Mitchell. You had him right there and didn’t take him
There is an "I" in win!
Way to go Mitchell
Yeah way too mitchell
Did he try to one-hand net that fish?🤯
Whatever happened it wasn't good haha
Tom ya dont need a snap weight. Not with those plugs.
lol…high suspense narration. (Hey Mitchell… your getting set down to the minors)
Try Poygan
We were going to that trip but when to bago instead
Mitchell!! 😢😢😢
I can't get into my walleye now account can you help me
Please hit " My Account" in lower right hand corner on Walleye Now App.
Then select " Email Us"
Mitch will respond and get you on asap.
Thank you!
BAGO!
Where is Shelby?
Lay off poor Mitchell!
MITCHELL MITCHELL MITCHELL!!! 🤦🏻♂️
Their nay be no I in team be their is Deffenetly ME
Which rods where Mitch's? Looks like you were over.
The 3 that didn't catch fish were his
If you have to put the camera down on those pigs please do! As a viewer I don’t care about watching fish get netted, I’d rather see that fish!!
Missing that monster , omg, shit happened…..
Doesn't always go as planned haha
@@TomBoley By the way,it’s nice to see how you work on live ❤️
I fished it in the early 90’s for one day. Worst lake that I have ever fished up north. It was a dink fest. Went to Depere the next day and had a great trip there.
I enjoy fishing different water and learning
"How to loose fish like a pro"
I’ve never seen someone reel so slow. Why you reel so slow?
To hopefully not lose those giant 17 inchers
Has your friend cost you a large fish? You may be entitled to compensation.
Nothing against trolling, but i dont understand how someone can argue FFS is unethical but raking miles of basin with boards is cool.
That's why catch and release are so important, now more than ever.
@@timw711 100% agree. I'm not for banning any particular fishing technique/technology.
3rd fish in, boring already. I dig the sharp shooting, where it appears the fish fight.
Why do you reel in so slow just waterski that fish in come on let’s go god damn
Seriously dude
With big eyes I slow reel them but with 18" and smaller they ride the surfboard!
@@timw711 okay
And turn the clicker off lolol
It’s not as cool if you turn the clicking off
I wish these tactics worked here in Colorado. For whatever reason, lures dont really cut it here. Sure you can catch some but we always revert back to finesse bait fishing (which I'm not a huge fan of). I fish a lot and have all the new stuff and try all the tactics. Usually I locate them, throw down a worm on a jig and they smash it. Then I'll try the kitchen sink and nothing. Go back to worm and jig and it's on again. Flicker shads seem to work the best but doesn't compare to the old jig and worm. Shadow raps are a good 3rd choice. We also have Pike that are lazy and not aggressive at all. I go up to North Dakota and it's a different deal altogether. Spoons barely catch anything here. So strange.
