I was babysitting my 3 year old grandson and had a broken ankle. He played with his siblings and then came and sat with me. We watched the leaves fall from the trees, seeing if they would land certain places, if they would spin like a helicopter, or go behind the fence or on the pool cover. It was a magical 15 or 20 minutes of calm in a 3 year olds busy world. Happy Thanksgiving. God is so good that we should thank Him every day, not just one, but that one is special.
Someone wrote something recently that is sticking with me this time of the season. "Your terrible job is the dream of the unemployed. Your house is the dream of the homeless. Your smile is the dream of the depressed. Your health is the dream of those who are ill. Don't let difficult times make you forget your blessings. Amen." Whenever I start feeling overwhelmed about my to-do list I think of that saying. My favorite parts of the meal is German Potato Salad, Gravy, and sausage dressing. Happy Thanksgiving and Keep safe to you and yours.
Great video with all your wonderful finishes!!! Your wips are just fantastic! Anything Blackbird is the best!! Pumpkin pie.. number one!! I am grateful for my Lord and my children and grandchildren.
My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the wonderful smells going thru the house as I prepare for my family to arrive! Blessings to all! Enjoy this special time with all your loved ones.... Looking to volunteer at a soup kitchen this year & be a part of those in need 🙏💙🙏
Your closing message is beautiful and very meaningful, thank you. Love all your stitching, pictures of your land and your calm and soothing voice. Thank you for sharing your time with me.
Wonderful flosstube. Love all your finishes and progress on your stitching. Thank you for sharing. My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is seeing the beautiful faces of my family around my table all healthy and happy. I am truly blessed everything else in life is just a side dish🥰
I love all of your FFOs. My husband is heading off to hunting camp for two weeks later today; this is when I usually get into FFOing a bunch of finishes since once I get started I can work in my craft room for hours :) Thanksgiving is actually my favorite holiday (even though I do love Christmas).. it's my favorite because it has always been about family.. without the distraction of all of the "busy-ness" that surrounds Christmas. It's a day that we've always gathered with family and a few friends here and there.. and enjoyed each other. Your comment reminded me of one of my favorite movie quotes.. from You've got mail when Kathleen Kelly wonders "Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life - well, valuable, but small - and sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it or because I haven't been brave?" I've thought of this often.. and I think as you said, we all have our ways to shine and that bravery comes in so many forms that we're each brave every day, no matter how large or small our personal stage is. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing your work and inspiration.
Thanks for the reminder about all we have to be thankful for. We're bombarded every day by messages in our consumer society so this was a nice antidote to that.
I love your message at the end of your video. There is great beauty and contentment in the small, simple things and I’m grateful for them all. Happy Thanksgiving!
My favorite is seeing extended family. Food favorite is my dad’s stuffing. He’s gone now and I do my best. The recipe was never written down so I wing it. Loved all your finishes!!! Very inspirational to get some completed as well!
I so love visiting with you Shanda. Seeing your wonderful FFO’s and progress on your other stitching. We are in our Spring time but in Autumn we have Harvest Sunday where we bring the new season’s fruits and vegetables to Church as a thanksgiving. Blessings to you for your Thanksgiving.
How could you not LOVE stuffing at Thanksgiving? So enjoyed seeing all of your works of art today! Your hair is looking beautiful. Wishing you a Blessed Thanksgiving!
Hands down, it’s all about the stuffing! Since I only have it at Thanksgiving I eat leftovers as long as they last. Wow, so many FFOs. I’m jealous. I did sit down and finally lace a Thanksgiving piece that has been here for years. It will be nice to have it on display this year.
I love the small and simple things too. I love the autumn when the trees drop their leaves but first some turn beautiful colors. Walking through them and hearing the crunch is one of my favorite things. As for Thanksgiving I don't eat beef or pork and a long list of other things so I love Thanksgiving because I do eat turkey. So I love the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy and whatever vegetables I decide to have - this year I may go roasted brussels sprouts and steamed green beans but not totally decided yet. I also am not that fond of pie but I may make some pumpkin bread for a sweet ending to my meal.
Thanks so much for the wisdom you spoke of and the wisdom of your commenters…love your FFO’s, the FO’s and your plans…wishing everyone the best and Happy Thanksgiving Shanda ❤❤
I love everything about Thanksgiving dinner. It’s my favorite meal of the whole year. Love that Thanksgiving is food and family and giving thanks. I will say that pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream is my very favorite dessert so I eat as much of it as I can this time of year. Thanks for the wonderful video. Happy holidays.🦃
Love catching up with what you've been working on - your a joy to listen to and your style is in line with mine as well. You've inspired me to work on O'Tannenbaum and I REALLY like how you've divided out the pieces with the goal to complete by "x" time. Those little sheep are vintage Putz sheep made in Germany in the early 1900's - my sister is a massive collector of them and got me started. They're adorable and a perfect accompaniment to the O'Tannenbaum piece. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the stuffing, pumpkin pie, and family!
You have been missed!! Soo nice to see you and get caught up on what's going on in your life!! I always enjoy watching you and seeing what you have been up to!!!! Enjoy your Thanksgiving!! It truly is the small things in life that mean the most!! Take care of yourself!!! Happy stitching!!!! :). Barbara
For Thanksgiving my favorite is always the mashed potatoes with gravy and stuffing. I don’t even care if there’s no other dinner items. Lol. For dessert, hands down it’s old-fashioned potato candy.
LOVED Hallowday Inn - I love the fabric and have been eyeing it at my LNS and wondering whatever to stitch it on. I seem to continue to use the called for threads and then kick myself after I use a color that really isn't jiving with my fabric - knowing while I am stitching it that it is just wrong!!! Now i see I am not the only one and hope to stop myself in the future! Arrgh! That said - I do love how your Hallowday Inn turned out - the subtlety is nice. Fave part of TG - when all is quiet at the start and we go around the table with our grateful lists. Yours have the simple blessings we don't want to miss. (btw - there are no calories in TG dinner.)
Happy Thanksgiving! Love your projects, prim remains my favorite. I've been retired a whole month, much poorer monetarily, but much richer with time, my hobbies, and my friends n family. My face Thanksgiving dish..stuffing! Mom always bought the pepperidge farm stuffing, but added more seasonings, sauted onions, celery.
Thank you for another inspiring visit! I always enjoy your beautiful photos at the beginning and the end of your videos. Seeing all your finished pieces was the push I needed to get busy on finishing some of mine. My favorite part of our Thanksgiving meal is enjoying the tradition of homemade noodles cooked in the turkey juices. It takes many hands working together with lots of laughter to make all those noodles! Thanksgiving blessings to you and your family.
Congratulations on all you FFOs! They're lovely! I saw Oh Tannenbaum finished on another Flosstube channel and it is so pretty. You'll be happy this time next year when yours is all finished😊 Have a lovely Thanksgiving, and, yes, I'm so grateful for the smallest and simplest things in my life!
Fabulous video Shanda…Thank you for sharing your time & talents with us but more importantly your friendship many blessings to you & family at Thanksgiving 🤗🌻
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I am truly a blessed person. My favorite Thanksgiving dish is broccoli casserole. Yummy. I think i am going to join you in your O Tannenbaum stitch. I too would love to be able to display the piece next year.
Hi Shanda! You have been busy! Beautiful finishes and beautiful WIPs. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the mashed potatoes and gravy, but not giblet gravy, just the turkey gravy. Cherry pie is next on my list. I always make a cherry pie for family dinners. Have Avery happy Thanksgiving and happy stitching til next time! 🪡🧵🪡✂️✂️✂️🦃💛🤎🧡
Happy Thanksgiving Shanda. I so enjoyed this video. Lots of beautiful finishes and wonderful plans. The photographs and music beginning and ending are so relaxing.
Hi my PPS friend! What a great video and I was so glad to see you. All your finishes looks so good, you have been busy!!! I am working on O’Tannenbaum right now. I’m hoping to have mine done by this Christmas but… I also would like to start Christmas Rose. I’ve had the pattern for a long time just never started it. Thank you for the reminder of our many blessings, big and small 😊. I love sweet potato casserole with marshmallow topping 😋😀 Goodness sakes that scenery is stunning 🤩!
Wow Shanda you have been busy. All your beautiful finishes. Lefse is a family tradition at Thanksgiving at my house. Happy Stitching & Happy Thanksgiving! 🪡🧵🍂🌰❤️
Can you go over the areas ,roof, twig etc with a darker version of the color? Just the cross over leg. That way it could be darker yet your not restitching everything and you may like it better. Love how you’re organizing your homework project! Yes, thankful for the little things and I’m also thankful for the “bad” things. Sometimes those bad things aren’t as bad as others think they are and they have true blessings in them or maybe they are as bad yet they have blessings in them. Thanksgiving is my favorite time of the year not sure what my favorite part of the meal is ( it could experiencing different foods that are brought) but the favorite part of the day is being with family and enjoying our company without anything but thankfulness required. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I loved your comment at the end! Thanksgiving is very important to me! I leave all my Fall things out till after that day! I love Autumn and don't want to rush it. I bake A special pumpkin pie with nuts on the bottom. My mom's recipe. Your stitching is wonderful! Great finishes!
I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for your video! I loved all your projects ! My favorite part of your video was the message at the end! I love Thanksgiving as well. The commercialism of society leans toward skipping right over it and I find that very sad. Your video is always focused on your needlework and what matters most in life versus a big pile of haul. That goes straight to my heart and I love your kind reminders every month to slow down and cherish what we already have. Happy Thanksgiving!
By far, my favorite is my mother's stuffing. Very simple, bread, broth, sausage (Jimmy Dean), onions, celery and butter. Mush together and fry in a cast iron pan. Outside gets crusty - favorite part. When it looks done I dump it in a baking dish and keep in overn until we are ready to eat. I don't know if you can do this with fabric but I do it with floss. For example, if I'm looking for an overdyed floss, I will type in the search bar on Garon's website and it will show me the charts that use that floss. I can then go to the project bag of a chart that is in my WIPS and pull the thread. You may be able to do the same with your yard of overdyed fabric! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Blessings to you and your family, Shanda. My favorite is the White Raisin Stuffing my Grandmother would make to stuff the goose. Oh, I wish I had that recipe now. Second choice would be the cranberry, orange, walnut dish that I get to make. Happy Thanksgiving.
Love the sweet words you spoke! I just love your stitching projects and finishes! I have more on my wanted list now! Have you ever thought about selling project bags? Your bags are just the cutest bags I've seen! For Thanksgiving, I look forward to the combo of turkey and dressing and mashed potatoes! I love all the veggies! Your carrots sound amazing! I love pumpkin pie for dessert! I have metastatic breast cancer, so each day is truly a blessing I've been given. I have so much to be thankful for! Oh, by the way, I love your house and decor!!! Happy Thanksgiving blessings!

Congratulations on all of the beautiful finishes! I really need to tackle my pile and get some things FFOed! Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving!!
Just loved everything that you stitched. My favorite thing is homemade egg noodles. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Your closing words were so beautiful. Brought me to tears. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I enjoyed your video and seeing all of your stitching. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. The cranberry nut mold is my favorite dish, but I also love pork and sauerkraut which my family always makes (in addition to turkey & stuffing) for Thanksgiving. I am originally from Maryland and I’ve met others from that region who have the same thing. It must be our German heritage 😊
Hi! So happy to see you! And your hair has really grown, looks just fine, I like it. Wow lots of ffos👍so much goodness to see. Our thanksgiving is October, but my, favourite is pumpkin pie. Not overly fond of turkey but can do the gravy! Lol. Nice sentiments happy thanksgiving Shanda. Forgot to add love the new beginning and end of videos!

Congratulation on so many beautiful finishes!! What a great feeling. They are all so pretty. Thank you for your beautiful message at the end of your video. In this world, we all especially need to be reminded to be thankful in everything! Hugs and happy stitching……………
Congrats on all your finishes. Would you please send me that "finish bug" as my pile continues to get higher of FO's but no FFO's. LOL Thanksgiving for me is my Mother's family reunion, where between 75-100 of us sit down to eat the traditional meal and then graze at the dessert table. Love all of your wonderful finishes, Shanda! You look really happy and content since you retired, and your hair is growing out so nicely. It’s going to be that beautiful silver that’s so attractive. Pumpkin pie is my favorite, as well as stuffing and turkey and corn pudding. Thank you for your beautiful closing message. I am so grateful for President Russell M. Nelson and for all of my blessings. May you and your family have a most beautiful Thanksgiving Day. ❤
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Congrats on your many FFOs. The dressing and homemade cranberry sauce are my favorites at Thanksgiving. Thank you for your thoughtful words.
I hope you take a picture of your dough bowl, you have many additions for the season! I love the fall blend of flavors of Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🥕🍠 the roasted vegetables gravy from the Turkey drippings, it really is a blend like no other!! Gathered with family and loved ones, We are Blessed! Happy Thanksgiving Holiday to you and your loved ones!

Always look forward to your videos, Happy Thanksgiving ❤️
Love your video! I love the fresh cranberry relish my sister and her husband made. Very good and tastes healthy. I have the basic recipe. 🍁🍁🍁🌲🌲
By far, my favorite is my mother's stuffing. Very simple, bread, broth, sausage (Jimmy Dean), onions, celery and butter. Mush together and fry in a cast iron pan. Outside gets crusty - favorite part. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Such lovely comments and thoughts. Very pretty finishes and wips!!
Happy Thanksgiving blessings!
your the best i love all the thanksgiving foods but most well said by you people have a great holiday
Love your finishes. There is a website called Ravelry that does exactly what you were suggesting for yarn, knitters and crocheted. It was started quite a while ago before it became such a huge resource. Often think a similar resource for cross stitch would be amazing.
Congratulations on all of the beautiful finishes! I really need to tackle my pile and get some things FFOed! Wishing you and your family a happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! My favorite Thanksgiving dish is the creamed pearl onions. I seriously could eat them all myself!
How do you soften up your R &R fabric. It’s such a booger to stitch on. Please advise!!!!

Be careful with rice as a filling it can hatch moths that will eat your stitching
