Good information! Since I rarely ever have to use a mic to get the performers attention, I just use a SM58 pulgged into an extra channel that is not being used and I can just turn the fader up and talk, but I mainly use it as an attention getter since the sound booth is quite a distance from the stage.
I was actually banging my head last week trying to set up something like that. Thank you so much for the great content, it's beeing super helpful, I've been doing some great changes at my church. You've reached Brazil haha
Thanks for another great video Brother, as well as explaining how the auto dim works. I always thought it was only for the full console but I just set it up on my x32 rack and it worked perfect. Now getting them to give up one of their inputs for the P16, that's a different story. ;-)
Thank you this was really great. Actually, all your content is informative and fantastic. I’d like to know, how do we setup a talkback mic for the MD (music director) on stage? Our MD is the first keys player who gives directions to the band and cues the singers on which song will go next. I want to use the talkback mic option for him to be able to speak to the band and singers in their monitors without him having to use many hand signs for the entire audience to see. I sometimes use an open channel and set it only to the bus sends to do this, but I’m wondering if I could use the talkback mic option instead.
Hi Drew, At church we have this setup but there is an ground noise through it. ( we found only happens on the talkback ). we have tried a couple of mic but NG. Any Idea?? thanks..
Not sure what's causing the problem but you could try an in-line ground lifter. That should solve the hum/noise, but be careful as you're apparently bypassing a safety feature(grounding) by doing so. Read the Wikipedia article for more info. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_lift
Hi Drew, can you kindly tap into talkback comms with the band, we currently on P16s, I would like to have a setup where I can raise an issue or directive to the band and in return the band members can talk back to me. a 2way comm system. looking for ideas on that.
Could you please explain to me how to set up a talkback from a x32Rack (used as Monitor-console on stage) and a X/M32 at FOH? Our signal flow is as follows: Midas DL32 (A) to Behringer x32 Rack (A) Behringer x32 Rack (B) to Midas M32 (A) The x32 Rack has control over the headamps and FOH "only" gets Digital Trim then. (In order to not mess with our in-ear-setup). We use Custom Inputs on all 32 channels as we also use some channels on the x32 Rack as inputs (Wireless Mics, Kemper, Backingtracks etc.). The DL32 is mostly used for inputs for drums, bass, keys). I could just use 1 input of our x32 Rack as Talkback and have the FOH-engineer use a small speaker at FOH to listen to my talkback. No problem. But the other way around? What if i want to hear the FOH-engineer's talkback in my InEars? He's not appearing on any of our inputs, as his busses are separate from ours. Would he have to route his talkback mic into a bus, that he then sends to (let's say) Channel 32 - B?
Hey Drew, would it be possible for you to make a video on IEM mixing with apps like Mixing Station? Where each band member controls their own mix. I am interested in what you recommend for pre EQ / Post EQ / Pre Fader (incl. compression) / Post Fader. Similar to a video you did in June last year.
Behringer used to have an app for this but last I checked it was outdated. I think there are 3rd party apps you can get that interact with your console once you input the WiFi and ip address of your console. Then those on stage can control from their phones or tablets.
@@davidhunt6508 yeah, we currently use an app called “Mixing Station”. But some band members prefer no EQ in their in-ears at all, while others like EQ & compression. Was just looking for advice on what Drew would recommend based on experience.
You have greatly enhanced my understanding of this board over the years, thank you so much. That being said, I'm petitioning for the removal of your mustache. 😂

My hero. I already had a basic understanding of the talkback system - and now I have a solid basic understanding of it. Lol.

Would love to see a video of you in action mixing one of your bands! Thanks for all of the great content!

It’s funny I was just looking for a video on your channel for this last night and today it’s up that’s crazy

Thanx! How can I rout that Talkback form a A Console to a Bus at a B-Monitor Console that is connected as a standalone console via AES50?
Could you connect a talkback into a comms system such as ezicoms through the x32?
I'm always missing just a high pass filter in it and could be perfect
Drew how to I sett uo my x32 so I can use bluetooth in ears
