I’m so happy you are active still Plunder! You exponentially increase the fun factor of the game for me. Keep on crafting these awesome builds and we’ll keep on watching them!
Just watched this and also your Dawnblade build. Excited about both. Love the new layout & build screens especially the summary Mod screen. Would like to see an ability/fragment summary screen also. Saves me screenshots. Really appreciate you. Thanks again.
I’m excited for the upcoming thorn buffs, but I really wish the catalyst would have extended the range the remnants can track from :( imo it’s the biggest thing holding thorn back in high tier pve where you often find yourself at range out of necessity
Idk i’ve been using thorn in every piece of high end pve whether its master raids or GM’s since necrotic grips released and I’ve never once had an issue. Its always been strong in pve its just been slept on.
With the upcoming Thorn catalyst, you'll be able to overflow the magazine up to 40 when collecting souls as well so it'll just make this build even better.
Mostly curious about the Thread of Isolation - how many hits does it take to proc? Would a faster firing weapon like Osteo benefit more from it vs something slower firing like the Thorn hand cannon. If you were to replace Isolation with another Fragment, which would you pick? I'm looking at Transmutation, Mind, or Wisdom as possible better options.
Late response but whatever. Isolation works on a percentage system: Each shot gives you a certain percentage and once reached 100% the effect activates: HCs and Scouts give 25% per shot, SMGs and Traces 10%, Bows and Snipers 34%, sidearms 20%, AR 15%, LMGs and Pulses 12% and Slugs 50%. This means that frames with higher rpm are always better in this case, Ex. a 720 AR is better than a 360 simply because it shoots faster while giving the same percentage.
True, however the poison only procs on the alt-fire, which makes it significantly less impressive than Thorn, Striga or Necrochasm. Striga stands out as the best as any kill or even just sustained fire gets the chain going, whereas Thorn explicitly needs to kill with the bullet itself, not the dot, to trigger the detonation. Although, with the HC damage buffs that's a lot easier now. Necrochasm requires a precision kill, which is a little more finicky but still at least somewhat consistently doable, and with the upcoming catalyst should perform well enough on its own to be worth using. Touch suffers from needing 10 headshots just to be able to toss the Blight out in order to proc the poison. It's worth considering if you need it based on champ types or the like, especially since the Blight now arc-blinds, which can stun unstops, but otherwise I'd definitely pick one of the other 3 over it.
@@balto2552 For sure, and I really do wish it worked a bit better, especially with the tweaks and catalyst, Touch is a pretty fantastic scout rifle, the damage it can put out via all the perks makes up for how conservatively balanced regular scout rifle damage is, and staying safe at long range can mitigate the risk of the HP costs. It's just a bummer that the blight doesn't pick up speed over time or something, so it's a bit more usable at actual scout-rifle ranges, as opposed to what feels like where you should be using a fusion rifle or smg 😅
@@tryingmybest9819 oh no ofc not. I'm not too fond of warlock. I just thought it was laughable that he's remade this build again. Kinda shows the lack of creativity in the game. Plunder has made plenty of builds to know that after so many iterations there's nothing left to build
@@dxvidcx9923 no need to get annoyed. We're just stating facts and if you agree then just say so rather than just acting like a child about a comment someone put before you
can anyone confirm that the suspending bursts from trance and momentum transfer still works in the new season? I just started my lock recently and farmed the necrotic grips, and so far I'm not really seeing the energy regen, which makes it hard to keep up melee charges
I'm going to have to give this build a try next season when Thorn gets the catalyst. I really enjoyed your last build with Osteo, but just ended up preferring other subclasses. I really hope they change how threadlings work next season so strand Warlock has more options.
I’m going to miss how many poison procs you got from osteo but I’m still going to use it. Good build I have something similar but I was using weavewalk for the immediate DR like an oh shit button
Unfortunately this build is pretty much dead now. All the stupid cooldown nerfs gutted it and you will spend more time waiting on cooldowns than anything.
Honestly given the artifacts I’d rather use quicksilver with artifact mods and for exotic armor potentially eye of another world for ability uptime or something else. If I was on necrotics I’d be on striga instead
Great build and thabks for the build, as always. However, I wish you'd demonstrated the build in a different GM area. Even the final room of this one would've been more impressive, I believe. This is a relatively safe part. Just something to think about. Thanks.
Great video. Straight and to the point. Try Monte Carlo out too. All that melee energy can be really helpful if you're fighting elites and minibosses and can't count on suspend and poison chain reactions.
I've played this exact build for a while now, but I usually run Wisdom instead of Warding. SO many orbs of power lol. Glad to see you highlight one of my favorite playstyles 😁
Hi plunder amazing video and nice touch using thorn since Osteo is getting nerfed next season lol, but I was wondering if your making a stasis build for titans since you’ve already went over the hunter and warlock?
A beginners guide to master lost sector would be awesome. I used strand Sixth Coyote, void HOIL, and solar Starfire Protocol to gain all armor pieces in master lost sector with multiple flawless runs. This could save endless head scratching. Please share your opinion on this plunder. Love your builds, but had to get many from lost sector. Also, flawless master runs give the best rolls periord!!! Also, produce a best in class for GM completions. Golf balls are king.
Not saying I don't appreciate the new video and contnet. But this build really is like 9 months too late. It's still strong, just not nearly as strong as it was at the start of lightfall since theyt nerfed suspend. Also Datto made a video on it like 8 months ago.
I’ve tried thorn with a similar build and thought it was crazy good. Especially with the catalyst coming out, thorn is about to slay. Still thanks for the build I didn’t save my previous build and this just helps a lot. Mobalytics is awesome. Thx man!!!
Glad to see nobody has came across my build yet i don’t want it nerfed btw that build doesn’t compare to mine I try’d it out and it’s trash can it’s okay if you run with noobs
How will it carry you through Lightfall? Oh, the things you have to get through to acquire something like Strand don't count? There's more than the endgame :(
Earlier i was just thinking that i wanted to make a strand build for my warlock and now i see this. Looks amazing as hell, and fun too. I'm definitely gonna try in the future. Edit: didnt completely understand everything about strand, seeing your build has helped me understand things better. Edit edit: made the build and it's super fun haha
Finally someone else using Thorn with Necrotics! The HC buff has made this a seriously nasty weapon. The piercing rounds are just icing on the cake with the poison/suspending bursts as well. This thing clears rooms of red bars faster than Striga, at least till you have to reload. The fact it's hitscan is really nice, the only super annoying part is Thorn's poison kills don't seem to proc Necrotic's detonation, you have to get a kill with the actual bullet for it to work, or prime 'em with a melee.
A suggestion for your Ophidia Spathe - 'Nuke Knives" build: if you swap from precision knife to fan of knives + ember of ashes, you can more effectively throw infinite knives. With the update to Skyburner's doing 10 scorch with Ashes equipped, you can now Fan of Knives then Skyburner's to cause an ignition that properly counts as a melee ability
Felwinters helm and Osteo striga is another option. Great for dense ad clear, but sad it only procs on kill instead of on hit. it would've been S tier. Can't wait for the thorn Caty gonna be so good with this build.
Necrocasom is a good weapon in general from what ive herd (haven't found a team for d2 crota yet) but I thought it was common knowledge to pare any weapon of sorrow with necrotic grips for bones effect. The warlock build regardless is interesting.
I only stay subbed because you make good content. Destiny is pretty much dead to my friend group and after a decade of playing we won’t even be buying final shape. They lost any respect they had left
Thanks for all the great builds you put out but since you do all these builds could you just make a video were you go through your guardians and just play with them that would be great to see
You make it look so easy. Everything agros so much on me that I can't begin to solo GM. When I watch your video it's like the mobs barely notice you are there.
My main issue with Warlock is that a lot of its mechanics work ON KILL rather than ON HIT or WHILE BEING SURROUNDED AND 8 SECONDS AFTERWARD. As a Titan main, I can understand people being annoyed by this type of balance.
This is literally a build that's been around since the launch of Strand... People stopped using it because of the suspend nerf...I expected a tad bit more innovation from you Plunder...

That’s actually without the catalyst. That will be the upgrade to the base behavior of the gun, so no catalyst needed :)
