- Al and James Lindner head west to catch prespawn smallmouth bass and walleyes using two different hardbaits designed to trigger strikes in cold water. Prespawn smallmouth can be weigh as much as they are goign to all year and anlgers often catch there biggest fish of their life during the prespawn.

If you find a grass bed near the bedding area try using a fluke behind a chatterbait. Put the fluke on like a Texas rigged worm. The tail should stand upward so if it's laying on the bottom it kinda looks like a crayfish and when you snap it off the bottom the tail kicks around like crazy. It has put some big smallmouth in my hands on pressured water. Seems like it only works on the 3plus pound females

Hey there Al! Love you brother! Have a question for you. How to get a hook out of your finger. I just had a catfish pull a 5/0 circle on a two hook rig into my finger past the barb. I eventuallythe tip pushed on thru and cut off
The barn and pulled it out. Me and my buddy like to never got that barb cut off. Any better ways to do it? I’m sure you have done it a time or two. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hope you are
